Favourite City in the UK

Four pages and not one mention of Hull.
I nearly voted Hull, but I'm trying to get my stalking of you under control so decided not to.
I was being honest about Hull, I used to visit it a as a kid so have fond memories of it, and it's not as bad as people believe.

Continuing the "not as bad as people think" theme, I've had many enjoyable trips to Reading and it's a whole load more quirky and attractive than its "soulless commuter and overspill town" reputation would have you believe.

What does everyone like about Manchester so much? It's my local city, there tomorrow, but I totally take it for granted.

I like Manchester btw, not knocking anybody.
Coming from Redcar it just always seems so vibrant to me, the pubs and restaurants are always busy any day of the week and there seems to be new ones opening all the time - I suppose the fact that nearly all my favourite bands hail from there helps as well 😊

I really like hull from working down there a lot of great pubs and the people are very much like teessiders in a good way

I'm the absolute complete opposite ..... I too lived in Newcastle for a few years and never saw the attraction - sweeping generalisation but I found the people so far up their own backsides with how wonderful "the Toon" was, it was painful

Ditto Liverpool - especially the arrogance of the locals and how Liverpool is somehow "different"

Favourite Cities - Leeds, York and Manchester

100% agree

In Australia it’s Adelaide, I would move there if a job lined up paying similar to now. Great cricket ground and it feels a manageable size.

After that Hobart is also a great place.

Sydney has it all going on but the urban sprawl is annoying regards roads and traffic. But yeah the beaches and stuff are great obviously.

Edinburgh and York are properly unique, but are probably the only uk cities among the top 10/15 in Europe. Clearly most would include London on that list but I hate the place

Shocked at people saying Leeds/Manchester/Birmingham. Found them to be awful to visit.
Newcastle has gone massively downhill in recent years too. Apart from Grey street it’s so run down

Sheffield for its people, not the prettiest place compared to some .. but it’s “real” and genuine, it’s a big Teesside in some respects.

Bristol is a good shout , as are Glasgow & Liverpool. Love cities with rich heritage and the major roles they played in our history.
They all have good things about them I guess. Manchester and Birmingham both very big and important places.

Then there’s the small ones that are lovely , lots of York shouts because it’s nice and it’s near. Bath is great as is Chester

I've never actually been to central London! I live just outside of London and have done for the past 6 years. It would take about 1 hour and cost less than a fiver on the tube(the tube station is a 5 minute walk from my house) but mainly because of anxiety I've never actually been. With all the history and museums in London I would probably actually really enjoy it if I managed to be dragged there, it's the thought of the busy tube and then the busy places really sets my anxiety off, I haven't been on the tube either.
That's such a shame.
I hope you get things sorted and you can enjoy central london.
I have to say that I love the place but unfortunately its not somewhere I could live unless I we win the lottery.

Travel around a lot with work and always enjoy visiting Lincoln, Sheffield, Bristol & Cardiff. Could happily move to any of these cities.

Cannot stand travelling to London, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Nottingham. Hell holes where I cannot for the life of me see why people are not running to be away from.

Stayed overnight in Hull when we drew 2-2 with them recently and was staggered how full of poverty the place was in the centre. Saw some right sights that put even Stockton and Middlesbrough to shame. It was genuinely like a dystopian future. It went into my families number 1 worst place in the UK, taking over from Mansfield.
