I'm the absolute complete opposite ..... I too lived in Newcastle for a few years and never saw the attraction - sweeping generalisation but I found the people so far up their own backsides with how wonderful "the Toon" was, it was painfulNewcastle as I've worked there a lot of the time over the last 15 years, so I know it and the surrounding area very well.

I'm a fan, lots of diversity /alternative vibe, not just the run of the mill chain bars and restaurants, also obviously got the beach / sea / downs thing which is good. Not sure I could live there but for a few days it's decent.I'm intrigued why everyone likes Brighton so much? I'm NOT saying I dont like it.... but am intrigued as to why its so popular?
