Why would you not take a vaccination?

Not saying Mwelolo was doing this, but one thing which certainly won’t work if someone wants to persuade someone to get vaccinated is ridiculing their viewpoint and their intelligence. I see a lot of this. We’ve seen with Brexit that all this approach does is empower and crystallise their view. It does not develop a bond of trust, which is needed for persuasion.

Oh, I do love your ignorance.

MRNA vaccines don’t contain a pathogen.

That aside, the vast majority of the public are more than happy to be injected with a more traditional Covid pathogen jab, often joining long queues to so,because they know how beneficial it is to them and also because they want to get on with their lives.

As I have pointed out you can not force people to be vaccinated but measures such as Covid passports for travel and large events would be a useful form of coercion which would help us to get on with our lives.
The virus is treated with heat to almost kill it. By definition it's a pathogen.

I've had the vaccine.
Very ill after the first jab but not so bad that I needed hospital.
Second jab was no issue at all.
I feel a lot safer for having it but I am still being cautious.
But if someone decides they don't want it for whatever reason I respect that.
It's their life, their decision and nothing to do with me.
Even if the speculation about it being dangerous is unfounded the fear is very genuine.

Some people trust their immune system, perhaps they have previously tested positive for COVID and don't feel a vaccination is required.

The vaccination is still in clinical trials, and we still have no idea if any of the vaccines will lead to any long term implications, therefore there will be people out there who don't want it until that issue has been cleared up.

Calling people selfish for not having the vaccine does nobody any good. Fair enough if they spout the tin foil hat theories and any disinformation about the science behind these vaccines. As a centrist Liberal, nobody should be coerced to have a vaccine against their will, I have had my jabs as I want to be able to travel internationally again, but I won't vilify anyone who doesn't want it. If you, and your loved ones are all fully vaccinated, and you want to continue with mask wearing and social distancing, then you are in a good position to protect yourself. But, if people want to take their chances, let them be, we are a free country (just about).
The vaccines clinical trials are complete. They are now in phase 4 where essentially all the data is gathered ready for being fully authorised without EUA.

Have you seen Fabio's link above? Interesting analysis of mRNA vaccine development and how they work. They aren't pathogens
No I looked it up half an hour ago and posted as much bear. Hate being wrong with some folks, it stings 😊

So, correcting the inaccuracy in your rather insulting post is misdirection on my part!

You really are in your own world….

You might want to defend your original proposition instead of having a pop at me. But carry on.

You think that vaccination should be mandatory, that's not making a case is it? Do you jail someone for refusing? Hold them down? Shoot them with darts?

It's an idiotic position.
I’ve already commented on this, I’m not going to get stuck in a circular conversation with someone who obviously has limited understanding.

Moving on.

Just wondering what everyone's stance above is on this now Neil Warnock has said most of the boro squad has said no to the vaccine?

3/4 of the way down the article - from Warnock

"He's (Coulson) got two more days with the Covid. We've a few little sniffs of the virus which we've got to overcome, we're still getting tested everyday. It's one of those things I'm afraid. For whatever reason, the majority of the players don't have vaccinations which I think is wrong but that's how it goes."

Should we vilify them?

Should we boo them?

I was a bit surprised by those comments too, but I would also be shocked if it’s not the same at every club. I guess the majority of players will think that they’re young, fit and healthy so don’t need it. I‘m assuming they will have been advised by the medical staff to get it, but ultimately it’s their choice, as it is for anyone else.
