Wilder promising big overhaul - some development on Monday

Didnt wilder out mcnair a few weeks back saying we have a northern irish international who should be doing more? Maybe it a clue he might be one to let go.

Have to agree with CW. The squad needs a major overhaul and let’s face it there’s plenty of players out of contract in the championship so perhaps it’ll be first come first served.

Preston for instance have 14 players out of contract — I’d take one or two of them.

For me I’d only keep McGree, Tav, Djksteel Fry and Jones the rest can be binned. Josh can be loaned out as he’s not ready.
You wouldn’t keep Crooks?

“I’m sure I’ll get the backing of the owner. There’s a few players we’ll get some decent money for.”

“It’s going to be the end for a few of the boys in there. There’s going to be a few surprises.”

"Attitude over ability, attitude over ability."

The surprises might include McNair or Fry, great ability but don't do it every game.

I'd guess it's a shake up of the scouting, or maybe an agreement with a top club to take youth players? I wouldn't mind us being a Dortmund or Bayern progression club, take a couple of their 20-22 year olds every season. Share training knowledge etc.
It’s when the retained list is out.

had a good goal return, and a decent first 3 months, but he's been poor since and lacks the technical ability to be a top championship player.

For me there are very few who are not expendible. Dijksteel and Tavernier maybe.

It sounded more to me he was sacking scouts that worked abroad
Not sure I interpreted it like that, he said he'd be doing face-to-face meetings with players and from his other comments about having to keep his opinions to himself I think a few home truths will be laid out on Monday, including the news to those that he doesn't see as part of his plans.

The biggest thing I took from his interview was that he didn't rate the squad as highly as maybe I thought he did, but had to work with what he had. That changes from now though.

talk is cheap of course, but still its was a very compelling interview and despite the result I found it very encouraging for next season.
