Wilder promising big overhaul - some development on Monday

I'd be interested to see McNair playing right side of the back three. I think on the whole he's done really well playing on the left, but I think he'd offer a lot more playing on the right. I remember a few mentioned that playing with overlapping centre halves could really help bring out the best in Paddy, but he hasn't had the chance to play on the right.

Djiksteel has done well in that role however, so it's a tricky one.
The only thing with McNair is this tendency to makes stupid mistakes, the swipe at Blackburn for the goal. The weakness when in a one on one with an attacker and the diving seems to be getting noticed from refs. I’m not convinced he’s had a very good end to the season if I’m honest. I get the argument for McNair playing the right hand side of the back 3 and if he was to stay I would let him and Dijksteel battle it out for that position. But I do think it’s time we signed a left footer for the opposite side now, we need that balance.

Yeah, I do agree that we need a left footer for that side. Being right-footed means Paddy wants to come inside with the ball most of the time. An example of that is the run he went on away at Birmingham, when he ran through on goal but ended up slipping at the vital moment. A left-footed player would probably choose to drive down the line instead, and deliver the cross.

Interesting to see what the news is on Monday!
I think a statement along the lines of this will happen on Monday

“We’ve had a look and found that DJed Spences loan deal officially expires after the last game of the full season and as such we will be recalling him immediately from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest. As a football club we would like to express our thanks to Steve Cooper for the way he has developed DJed, you really are a class act”

I was fuming following todays game. I couldnt wait to hear Wilder because I was fuming with him.

What I took from it: he's been biting his lip with a few players for fear of unsettling the team when theres things to play for. Now then season is over he cant wait to tear into them.
He clearly has players ready to come in - must be players reaching the end of their contracts.
If I understood what he was saying then there are quite a few players who will be ran out of the club. As was mentioned in the earlier posts there was a mantra: attitude over ability, attitude over ability.

Howson will get a contract. I would put my house on it.

Get rid of Jones? You’re joking right! The main bright spark of the season. May have run out of steam lately but it is his first full season after coming into the team out of the blue. His defensive work is improving and, if we had a proper goalscorer, would have umpteen assists by now. Only 22 as well. (y)

Payero will surely be one of them. Not made any impact this season. Dunno why we as fans would know anything on Monday/Tuesday, however. Wouldn't be great business sense to tell the world you're willingly offloading some of your major players. I'm certain Ben Gibson will be returning.
