I'll be honest, I'm not bothered what he said in that meeting. His language was a bit salty and the phrases he used a bit strange, but so what? It's interesting to read about but none of my business really.
I don't know much about the thing they were discussing so find it hard to get emotional about that.
I know nothing about the people he was talking to either so can't feel sorry for them.
I just hope it doesn't affect the one thing I do care about in all this, Boro.
There might be a bit of gloating from opposition fans, particularly Newcastle and Derby I imagine. But we can live with that.

Reading this today he appears as welcome to own here as the head choppers up the road , swore at someone, or a journalist dissappears , they bought a basket case ...he saved one

people swear at each other i do , even the most virtuous , pious "characters" on here do
there's a huge difference between saying f... off you nob to your mates and coming out with that aggressive bilge that Gibson is alleged to have said in a professional meeting. Honestly, I've worked with plenty of awful people, but I don't think anything has come close to what I read. There's an enormous difference between everyday swearing and the threatening message we have all read.

when it's public assets being discussed, then surely it's everyone's business even if you can't be chewed with it.

Not gonna hammer our owner due to a disagreement he’s had in business. Literally don’t know any of the context.

He’s done a lot for the club and area and he’s gonna be hear for a while yet, if he has said those things I’m sure he’s embarrassed and will choose his words more carefully in future.

He’s human, he does a lot more good than bad. Suprised at how many people want to drag this on and make it bigger and bigger. Had your say now, let’s see if Gibson has anything to say instead of over analysing some comments our owner has allegedly said in an argument

That's your prerogative.

He’s done a lot for the club and area and he’s gonna be near for a while yet
He's done a lot for the area, but it's fair to say it's been diminishing returns and poor off field management since the Steve Mc days. I'm not going to pretend that this is all his fault, and I don't have my head in the sand about the fact there are other clubs also pushing for the same thing. But it's fair to say that one poor season in the top flight in 15 seasons isn't good enough. Hopefully with 4 seasons of creeping improvement and seemingly more sensible off field investment, we are finally starting to see some progress

He's done good, and he's done bad agreed. This falls in the bad category.

It's going to get bigger and bigger because it's in the national eye now. Gibson has chosen to side with some pretty dubious characters.

If you lie with dogs, you get fleas.....this is Gibson's poor character judgement rearing it's head. Happened with Monk, Ravanelli, Strachan etc.

As for "Having our say", it's not your business if other people choose to talk about it, it's our prerogative to do so, it's not your place to shut down debate that you don't like.

Well keep talking about it then, I’m sure you will, but what good is it doing? Do we want to highlight this more than it needs highlighting? The comments don’t look good but we don’t know the facts so I just think we shouldn’t be hammering him and hanging him out to dry at the first sight of trouble. He’s our man, I will back him.

I've had dealings with some of the people mentioned in that article through the Hide Tide project that PD ports were a massive part of and I can assure you they are decent people. I've also been in Gibbo's company due to my friendship with Terry Cochrane and again he came over as a decent bloke. I am flabbergasted and disgusted that that man who paints himself whiter than white and the leader of the club I love acted in the manner reported.

what good is talking about match performances? What good is talking about possible transfer targets? Might as well shut the site down and all go live on our own little islands.

Do we want to highlight this more than it needs highlighting?
This will continue to get highlighted until the characters involved are held to account and transparency is enforced. That might take the removal of this government though.

The comments don’t look good but we don’t know the facts
We know some of the facts, and there is no circumstances where that behaviour is acceptable.
He’s our man, I will back him.
That's fine, I'm a Middlesbrough fan first and foremost, no one is bigger than the club, including Gibson. I expect better than what I've read, from our custodian and I really, really hope he is clean in this whole charade of a grift, wrapped in a fiasco called Teesport. I'm not judging that he is heavily involved, I don't know, but this has peaked my worry glands.

It was Felix Magath…..

Xenophobia is one way of looking at it but was it xenophobic when we fielded that Teesside team? Not sure I’d categorically call it xenophobic, he had these dreams about it being a local club etc and he felt that didn’t reflect that. He was just a bit behind the times I think, he soon reneged when he realised there were no decent English managers left by 2013.
Middlesbrough on rhine was the soundbite used

Each to their own, but this will be my last contribution to this thread. Would rather see if Gibson responds to this and then maybe I will comment again or see if this behaviour is becoming common. But for now, I’m happy to just forget I read it because I respect the man and I’m not turning against him in what clearly was a heated conversation both ways and he’s lost his head.

His threatening approach served only to strengthen the resolve PD Ports board to tackle our local band of mobsters.

And I think that is why Gibson backed off, realising his attack dog approach was going to backfire on him and his associates.
PD P hold all the cards atm and he does not have the muscle, financial or otherwise to tackle them.

He's left looking like a right T at the moment.
