TeessideLive, Steve Gibson and Ben Houchen catch-all thread

Jesus.
I really don’t know who Gibson is.
I mean, I guess you have to have a bit of steel to become a successful businessman, but that is proper grade A bastad language he’s allegedly using there.
Wish I could unread that, to be honest.
Yeah just caught up with this and it's a hard read. Doesn't help that I know Frans Calje and he's a nice guy (in my experience anyway)

Joking aside this whole teesworks / free port job seems rotten to the core. A money making scheme to rape teesside of anything worthwhile making the rich richer and the general working public poorer.
I presume the site rotting stagnant for decades was preferable eh…

It's the "I want your kids out of private school" bit that gets me. That's a very millionaire attempt at a threat. I like to think that he was going to just say "I want your kids" and then it dawned on him that that might sound a bit dodgy, so he added the private school part to make him sound a bit less shrub rocketeery.

He’s been a brilliant chairman overall but I’m genuinely shocked anyone would think Gibbo is a “nice guy”.

A few doing mental gymnastics trying to defend his repulsive bully boy behaviour reporter in PE. Imagine if any of us went on like that in a works meeting.

We probably do have to be a bit careful or he’ll set his hounds loose on fmttm.
Not so sure about a brilliant chairman, the club has been a complete **** show for the last 15 years now

He lost me when Boro were looking to replace McClaren as manager and we had the chance to get a good German chap (can't remember his name) who would have cost some money to get, but Gibson said he didn't want Boro to become Berlin-on-Tees and we got Southgate instead. Xenophobic and cheap-skate.

It was Felix Magath…..

Xenophobia is one way of looking at it but was it xenophobic when we fielded that Teesside team? Not sure I’d categorically call it xenophobic, he had these dreams about it being a local club etc and he felt that didn’t reflect that. He was just a bit behind the times I think, he soon reneged when he realised there were no decent English managers left by 2013.

I swear regularly at people but never in a professional situation and I have certainly never behaved in the way Gibson did.

It is his role as owner to do so. If he cant, then i'd get the jist of his feelings and actions.
