Mcgree was the best player on the pitch but no one ran the game for me. We were good. Doak made a difference being a threat helped by dijksleel.

Solid at the back against a poor team.

If you think Mcgree was better than Hackney today I think you must have an agenda or axe to grind or that weird thing with many homegrown players where people can't accept how good they are.

Hackney & Morris were exceptional today. Hackney's goal meant he edged Morris and Doak for MOM.

Mcgree was good today and makes the system work better which allows those individuals to play better.

All I'm saying is the over the top slating of players last week was ridiculous. The manager got it wrong last week which makes the job of the players much harder. Today he got it right and their manager got it wrong.

Exceptional we beat Stoke 2 nil. We played well. 7 out of 10s to everyone.

Hackney had had one bad game and steady away all season apart from that. I actually thought he had a really good game against Portsmouth as well to be honest. I'm not sure why so many people jumped on him off the back off one poor performance last week but it happens. Recognition of the Sunderland poor display was fair. But there was over the top criticism not just about that one performance which I didn't get at the time and still don't get.

Anyway today he was superb and was enough to reassure any sensible Boro fans who were having doubts about him that he is still a class act at this level. Anyone who is unable to recognise how good he was today is probably not worth conversing with.
 
Hackney is quality, has had a dip in form now and again from the very high standards he sets..

Morris and Hackney are settling into a great centre midfield partnership, Morris sits in breaks up play, protects the back line which gives Hackney a bit more freedom to get further forwards and play like he did today.

Having McGree back makes a massive difference this team.

He was excellent today. I even said so at half time before his excellent goal in the second half.

He constantly found Doak in the first half with brilliant switches of play and had some good driving runs through out the game. None more so than his worldy goal.
 
Hackneys finish was class.

He nearly scored a worldie against Derby too.

It felt like everyone was up against the sword last weekend which is why I logged out for a few days. We were all disappointed but some of the over reaction to one bad game was ridiculous - totally understand it hurts more against The Mackems.

It was the same last season. “League one at best” etc.

Sunderland was the first game this season where I felt we didn’t deserve anything from the game. We dominated all the others

We have a talented group who will have some bad games now and then - they’re human.

Across 46 games, Hackney will be one of our best players this season.
 
Hayden was my man of the match today,he had a great game driving the team on,playing good passes,holding on to possession well and scoring a belter of a strike,our front 6 today are arguably our strongest and most balanced front six.

Yeah, but apart from that, and his belter into the top corner, a 7/10 performance, right?

Making yourself look a bit silly now to be honest.

All posted before he scored on the matchday
thread as well as many others.. his goal just completed a very very good CM performance.
