Absolutely obscene decision. At a time when people are struggling thousands will lose out on travel and hotels already booked. Can’t wait to see how much her funeral will cost the taxpayer as well. I think with her death we should now have a referendum on the continuation of the monarchy.
We are not amusedRidiculous.
There’s nothing remotely controversial about supporting a decision to pause sporting events to mark the passing of the monarch of the last 70 years. There’s always one who has to take the controversial view just for attention…. Touché

The game tonight is off but tomorrow all fixtures go ahead it seems. Sensible decision from the Premiership.I've just heard the rugby is going ahead? Surely not

That was my thoughts also. It would do the reputation of football no good if minutes silences were interrupted by people who chose not to respect it.I wonder if the authorities were worried about fans at certain clubs not known for their affection for the Establishment showing emotions that weren't in tune with solemnity/ mourning.
Public school rugger buggers. They are the establishment, not peasants, so the rules don't apply.I've just heard the rugby is going ahead? Surely not
But there'll surely be a minutes silence at the next game anyway so you still have that problem. That was my thoughts also. It would do the reputation of football no good if minutes silences were interrupted by people who chose not to respect it.
Fair point. I think this is why minutes applause have become more common place in order to drown out any dissenting voices. Not sure what the right answer is myself. But there'll surely be a minutes silence at the next game anyway so you still have that problem.
Liverpool are prime candidates for it and they're playing at home on Tuesday. Not sure how 3 days makes a difference if that's what they're concerned about.
100%. Now would be the worst timing. Royalists would win comfortably. We (republicans) would lose I think.
After a few years of Charlie boy though.........
