Liam Gallagher John Squire

Not sure trashing the offices was anything to do with album release?

They wrote their name on a few bridges and walls before the first album, yes, as they had little/no marketing campaign. But they didn't do it to raise awareness of another announcement. It all just feels heavily record company/manufactured now, but I appreciate its the way of the world.
The trashing the offices was a protest against their former label I think, who they thought had screwed them over.

No it wasn't due to the album release, true. My point is, writing your name on a bridge was probably the late eighties early nineties equivalent of a social media teaser

The Guardian was given an early listen to the LP. With an appealingly raw, crunching and immediate production sound, the energised songs are at the heavy end of Britpop with stomping rhythms, burly riffs and poignant, brightly melodious top lines. Blues, garage and psych-rock are also major components, and unsurprisingly, the Beatles are a touchstone, namely the pop-psychedelia of their post-Revolver period. Though when asked about the rumoured duo’s album on X in October, without outright confirming it, Gallagher replied with typical swagger: “It’s the best record since Revolver … I’m being humble it ***** all over it.”

Greg Kurstin plays bass, with Joey Waronker On drums..

Look I try to defend all things Liam/Oasis/90s etc but wtf, at one point it’s a guitar version of I can sing a rainbow.

I'm thinking it’s not quite Revolver standard

It’s pretty crap isn’t it?
I lol'd at liam singing the colours of the rainbow. Nice to hear squire playing guitar again and Liams voice sounds good. The song itself is pretty one dimensional, if that's the best they've got then it doesn't bode well for the album. Hopefully there is something with a bit more depth to come. Saying that I wasn't expecting a 61 and 51 year old thirty years past their prime to blow me away so I'm not too fussed.

Yeah me neither. I expected this, and was hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but wasn’t.

Will still listen to the album with intrigue. Can’t say I’m expecting it to eclipse Revolver as Liam claims though.

I’ve always hated Oasis, so I was never going to be a fan. But **** me - how they thought they could put that out is beyond me.

'Just Another Rainbow' is an anagram of J HATES IAN BROWN TOUR - lyrics include "Just another rainbow, paying the bills, am I your windmill?" pfft dunno why I thought it might have been decent "Red and orange, yellow and green, Blue, indigo, violet, we've crossed a line" - ah well.
