Liam Gallagher John Squire

Its an iconic singer and a virtuoso guitar player without a decent songwriter isn't it? Sounds like a rehearsal room warm up jam.

I think they missed a trick - the rainbow lyric should have been Liam snarling "Richard of York gaaave battle in vaaaaaaain". Much more rock'n'roll.
if I met a 50 year old darts announcer and a 60 year old painter and decorator smashing that out in the cleveland bay.. I'd think fair play to em

On a separate note. I was reading an interview with Gallagher and Squire last week in the Guardian. They had to have them in separate rooms, due to Gallagher dominating the conversation. Also, it’s like Liam hasn’t changed a bit since the 90’s. He actually made that point himself.

It's always been that way with Squire, he's always been taciturn and not exactly forthcoming in interviews

I wanted to like the track "rainbow" but Liam's voice sounds weirdly out of time yet in time. I think it's the way it's been produced in the daw. computer.

Each line sung and composited together. It kind of sounds too quantized. Just like when drums have no humanisation or swing to them

I know his isn't a recent trick to use but when it's not done correctly it sounds obvious.

I'd also go so far as to say with his recent stuff it sounds like he has sang a bank of words and phrases then pieces then together when needed, again probably a common studio trick . Just like double tracking et all

None of it sounds finished.. might have been above to get something decent out of it.

Liam Gallagher has a great rock and roll voice and John Squire is a really good guitarist.. but yeah.. farts in jar innit.

I think it’s more like he’s joined the Seahorses.

If it came to light that these two tracks were both leftover from the Seahorses days (and it good enough for their album) I wouldn’t be at all surprised.

They’re both rubbish imo.
From Mars to Liverpool would sound better with Chris Helme singing it..

In fact.. why not just go the whole hog!
