No doubt a lot of haters on here but for anyone interested looks like a new joint album is on the way, rumours on Oasis fansites that joey waronker involved as well.

Assume this post by squire a few days ago is a little tease.

As a gent of a certain vintage who was a fan of both Oasis and Stone Roses back in the day its certainly got my interest. Could be awful but you never know.

Always thought they'd do well together.. should have replaced Noel in Oasis back in the back (Stone Roses should have drafted in Slash)

Liam co-wrote this banger for the Seahorses mind

John Squire played Champagne Supernova better than Noel Gallagher ever could..
It's a bit of a stretch to call it a cowrite tbh. The story I've heard squire tell is a he wrote it and played it to Liam during a drinking session and he sang it back in a mock Oasis style which Squire liked and then copied and gave Liam a writing credit. Doubt LG even remembers it.

Bit of a stretch to say LG doesn't even remember it

LG is over 50. Squire must be almost 60. It is going to be total dog sh.it, would be my opinion. Mind you, Squire went up his own ar.se in the 90s so I am not sure it would have ever been good.
Two old men that should stick to what they do best: living off past glories from decades ago.
Everything post 1996 hasn't been so good for them.. but fook me they've got enough years in them to be able to churn out at least one decent track..
maybe the both need someone to bounce off?

Urggh the new Stone Roses stuff was pure dog dirt wanit..

Squire does my head in. He was one of my heroes, as a boy. The first stone roses LP remains my favourite ever and only second, in terms of quality, to OK Computer, in my lifetime.
Then he ruined one of the greatest ever bands with his ego and coke fuelled guitar nonsense whilst simultaneously deciding that he is actually just as good an artist as musician. He would get the ar.se that journalists appearing at his exhibitions were more interested in his music. Serious ego issues.

It's like Mancunian band wife swapping.
Swaps which should have happened..

Stone Roses - John Squire to Slash
Oasis - Noel Gallagher to John Squire
The Seahorses - John Squire to Aziz Ibrahim
The Smiths - Johnny Marr to Vini Reilly

at least two of them have played guitar for Simply Red.. answers on a postcard..

Noel Gallagher should have propery joined Simply Red!

Definitely not classically trained!! But I'd pay to go watch that before I paid to go and watch Ian Brown on his latest karaoke roadshow
TBH you couldn't pay me to watch either. And I speak as a massive Stone Roses fan (and even of Ian Brown's early solo stuff).
