Personally I'm not o sure on that, I think he will score more goals, but has more weaknesses to his game.McGree will turn out to be a better player for us than Tav.
I absolutely agree, there will be quite a few deals being worked on, and some probably being resurrected that we thought we couldn't affordIrons in the fire, you’ll see.
I think 7m would be a sensible ceiling per transferYour claim was that we won't spend a 1/4 of the circa 42m that we will have FFP headroom. Not that will we shouldn't spend big on 1 player.
Yes spending more than 10m in total is a lot for a champ side (without or without payments). But, the side has been chronically under invested in for some time. The idea that we will sell two players for 27m, and barely spend anything is a sure fire way to a depressing future.
Gibson has always made money available, and I don't think he will say, less than £10m CW, that's your lot, because it would be totally out of character with what he has done for 30 years now.
Maybe he won't allow a 12m striker, but he might allow 3x 7m strikers.
We spent 7.5m in total last season without any sales income, so we will clearly spend more than 10m
It would, unless there is an absolute star, I mean if you had a 20 year old Ronaldo and he was 9m, you'd have to roll the dice.I think 7m would be a sensible ceiling per transfer
Hope you’re right Dynamo. The way I‘m seeing it… we were desperate to cash in on Tav and with him at least were not prepared to risk availing ourselves of this transfer chain excuse.all the players we want are stuck in transfer chains. because nobody is hardly doing anything in the market. its going to be a mental month for several clubs, us included. i'm guessing we had a cm lined up and pretty much sorted already. hopefully 2.
I've got a feeling this is more about Wilder wanting the money to reshape the squad. 10m, can go a long way in the championship. We effectively have a near 40m FFP headroom to work with, depending on what Gibson is prepared to spend.
8m under last season + another year of the Monk Spunk year of the FFP window (5m) + Mel Morris Asshole tax (3m) + Forest promotion bonus Spence Fund (1.5m) + Spence sale 15m + Tav sale (10m) = 42.5m
Trousered? You make out like boro is ran at a profit regularly and the chairman is taking out bags of cash with pound signs on them as opposed to the regular loss making vehicle that it is.It’s crazy how this has been played out. If we sign 2 strikers, 2 midfielders and a CB, we will have less players than last season when we missed out on play offs - and cited a small squad as a contributing factor.
25m has been trousered. Plus high season ticket sales!
Exactly. It's a sobering thought, but if Boro banked the £25 million, and didn't buy another player, the club might just about break even for the year ending in June 2023. Just about break even.Trousered? You make out like boro is ran at a profit regularly and the chairman is taking out bags of cash with pound signs on them as opposed to the regular loss making vehicle that it is.

Wilder said before the window opened that some would leave
If another championship club sign Gyokeres, I would be guttedIt would, unless there is an absolute star, I mean if you had a 20 year old Ronaldo and he was 9m, you'd have to roll the dice.
I'm also nervous about spending 12m on Gyokeres if that is the plan, could easily backfire. Yes four or five £5m players and a couple of frees/loans would be a huge statement and still be well within FFP.
Now! I think you'll find Neymar is available and Gibson has made zero effort to put a package together to tempt him here. Why? When has gibbo ever let us down with financing?
Where did he say that?"Don't mention that name (Bausor) to me" - Neil Warnock, 06/11/2021.
