Footballers love players like Philips, Henderson, Butt etc or for us Mustoe and Boateng. Limited technical ability but provide the basis for our defensive shape, protect us from counter attacks and play it simple in possession. Philips does need to get out Man City though and start playing, it’s vital for England that he does.

I wouldn't play any of them to be honest, Henderson is **** poor, Gallagher is not international level for me and phillips doesn't play. Like I said don't need 2 holding midfielders it was our downfall at the euros in the end letting it go to penalties.

I’m guessing he thinks he needs a forward with genuine pace in the side, with Saka being out.
