Club Shop - Complete Shambles!

Nah, I think Viv is more accurate with his estimate. I'd bet there's no more than 100k who would describe themseleves as "a boro fan".

The reality is that no one really knows, probably least of all the club.
Tees Valley population is 677k. I think Boro fans would be at least 20% and we definitely have fans outside the area. I think our ticket sales for Wembley show that we have at least 40k fans that would go, even if not regularly, probably closer to 50k. The number of people that would actually class themselves as a Boro fan would be much higher.

There is a big difference between someone who would describe themselves as a Boro fan and someone who will spend money on club merchandise and attending matches of course and the 50k suggested is probably much closer to the market size of Boro fans.

This number should have been much higher. We were at the forefront when the PL was becoming a global brand. We were one of the top teams, star players, playing in Europe and we failed to grow the fanbase outside of Teesside and even actively made decisions to put fans off if they couldn't see the Riverside from their bedroom window.

It’s truly pitiful it really is. My mate lives in the US so asked if I’d get him the new away shirt in XL to bring over before thanksgiving , no probs I thought.

I had to take a photo to show just how pathetic the stock left was as only 2 left one small one xxxl left.

In November. Incredible.

If I remember rightly from the last time this came up (about 2 weeks) the line from the club shop was something like "we aim to have no surplus stock left at the end of the season". Sounded really pleased with themselves about it.

And rightly so, sounds like they're well ahead of target. Job done. Don't what everyone is complaining about.

He'd probably have been cheaper ordering online anyway, as the shop don't charge VAT on overseas orders which always more than covered the shipping when I ordered from them.

The number of fans point is moot to be honest.

Whether it is more or fewer fans than any of us think doesn't excuse the club being consistently unable to meet demand.

There is loads of merchandise that could be produced separately from Errea. Why not order 1,000 scarves x 3 or 4 different designs from Turkey for the winter season?

It’s not just replica shirts, I walked in with a £60 birthday gift voucher and walked back out with it, pretty much nothing clothing wise for an average sized male.

No lads, you're all wrong - Rob's got it from the horse's mouth - everything is bang on and exactly as it should be.

Not been in since 2014 ish. Wanted 2 full kits for my nephews living in Qatar as Xmas presents. I could get a shirt for one and a pair of shorts for the other.
On the plus side I was told I was able to get the 2 pairs of socks needed but only if I contacted Doncaster Rovers club shop. They wore the same ones as us and had plenty in 😲

Rob - I think you're going to have to go back to her - it doesn't seem she's quite right about everything being spot on.
To be fair to Rob, and he's been shilling for the club since that was a coin, he can only report what he's told by them.

It is clear that they don't have much professional expertise on the non-football side of things. They just muddle along and hire consultants for big programmes.

My only criticism of Rob is that he's far too trusting of what he's told by the club. He'll genuinely have spoken to her and come back here to tell us that we're wrong completely believing the club's side of the story.

@Primus84 man give it a rest. Rob's asked the question. I'm sure he can gauge the amount of unrest htere is surrounding this subject. You don't have to flog him.

I’m not - it’s just he doesn’t seem to learn that club often spin him a line. It’s like he always has to take the club line no matter what.

He tried that but it was sold out he thought we might have some in with it being nearly Xmas

Stock for Xmas leaving Italy on the 6th December - unfckngbelievable

As others have pointed out, other Errea supplied clubs don't have this issue so it's got to be down to the club's purchasing / stock policy

We have had issues constantly no matter who our kit suppliers are. The issue with no stock of everything else that isn't kit can't be blamed on errea either. It all points to the issue being our own.

As We only sell in house is it any wonder suppliers treat us like they do as an afterthought as why should they bother when we aren’t bothered ourselves.

We have the same mentality as we did with the magic cabinet at ayresome park.

The days of picking up a £52 boro shirt in the February sale for £20-25 are a long distant memory.

I'll admit i went down the replica replica route this season apart from the UNIBET logo being slightly bigger happy with my £13 shirt (i wouldnt pay £52 for a replica shirt)

The thing is that its not actually too difficult to sort out.

The MCC/Lord's get lots of their stuff from a UK middle-man to supply into their retail and online shop.

The issue of the official strips is obviously more complicated due to licencing issues but pretty much everything else could be supplied in 2-3 weeks.
