Club Shop - Complete Shambles!

Ive had a good read through this thread and as a whole i agree with most of the comments made , its quite simple most of the time enough stock isnt preordered.

But there have been lots of good things in recent times too, the retro shirts are nice as are the walk out jackets and training gear. just make sure if you want a particular item to get it when launched or lose out.

I think the club shop staff get far too much stick, maybe they want to order more but the powers above make them decisions and they are the ones that have to sit back and take it from the fans . Just my opinion here.

after the last adidas year they were left with mountains of stock, and again in the 1st year of hummel. so thats where the risk averse comes from.

My main gripe is that they continue to supply an ebay seller with lots of stock, someone at the club must know who is leaking so much stock.

At times over the past few years said ebayer has had more stock than the club shop, they also seem to get everything from own brand to player issue stuff, for me this stinks and is bang out of order. This should be sold to fans by the club. It has to be someone at the club selling to this ebayer as its been through the adidas/hummel/ errea era.

Everything from samples through to player kit and everything in between , its just wrong
I don't know a lot about the mountains of stock but I would have bought it if I'd seen it on sale online 😁
I'm not getting at you, and your post is excellent by the way, but maybe the club could look at the oversupplied figures from before, and the undersupplied figures from now, and draw a graph that shows the likelihood of how much stuff they actually probably need.
There's probably a way of calculating such a thing and of deciding how much to buy based on probability or something.

Part of my away days with the little lad is a visit into other teams club shops, and bar possibly Huddersfield Town, we must have the most pathetic club shop in the division. Even Exeter City had more variety and stock than we had.

Surely when our club staff visit other clubs they must visit the shops and see what others are selling. The one thing that annoys myself is the cheap tatty MFC t-shirts that we sell that are just horrid.

I do know that when Matt Emmerson was directly employed by the club they did speak to other clubs about marketing. I met him at an away game many years ago and he'd been to another club that week.

This stuff isn't actually that difficult is the most annoying thing, but its just an afterthought.

Got mine from China they seem fine not the same as buying form the club but needs must and only £12 each.
£12 each? Is that including delivery? When I lived in China a couple of years ago kits were between £6-8 each. Got the black Ajax top for a football tournament and bought a few others back for the kids.

Yeh including delivery took about 2 weeks.

The shop is an embarrassment and no one can really defend the poor stock lines.

But the one tip I’d give anyone is if you see anything you like buy it don’t wait as it’ll be gone and prob never come back.

I remember I was in a few summers bsck and it was a scorching hot day and I saw a new look beanie winter hat so I bought it the woman on the till said your buying that but it’s baking outside. Yes but winter is coming and these will be gone by then and sure enough come winter they’d all gone.
