Top 5 worst gigs

Yeah Black Sabbath one of those rare bands that were genuinely groundbreaking. The Unholy Trinity of them Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple changed music forever.
Not sure you can say the same for them namby pamby American Wannabees that copied them!🤪
Fat Ozzie might have come close to stage breaking, but not ground breaking. They were really poor that night.
Van Halen were very good that night and DLR was outstanding.

Worst main act was Bowie at Cardiff on glass spider tour(support acts were good)
worst recent gig was plastic mermaids at westgarth (turned down Skids on same night)
Cant think of any other poor gigs featuring main bands

Robert Palmer, sometime in the early 90s at the Albert Hall.

A new take on his songs, some he hadn't done before, new stuff.

Lots walked out.

Reel Big Fish at slam dunk festival. Can’t remember the year but it was when it was around Leeds uni and the city centre. They played one of their big hits 6 or 7 times in a row but it different styles of music. Went down like a lead balloon.

Are you sure it went down as badly as you thought? That's S.R., one of their most popular songs, and they've played it that way hundreds of times over the last three decades. Fans always enjoy it. Although maybe this was more of a neutral crowd, it being a festival?

2007, Leeds Uni refrectory. I was there, the crowd were awful and seemed to be mainly there for Paramore, even though it was RBF who were headlining.

Sonic Boom Six were the best band that day, although Mad Caddies were great too.

I'm surprised Van Morrison hasn't made an appearance on here.. similar to Joe Lumley in his consistancy.

The Jam - Manchester Apollo 79 Setting Sons tour , awful venue , lifeless crowd .

REM - Huddersfield Football Ground .
It's 1995 , Michael Stipe decided to tell the crowd how great homosexuality was , lot of South Yorkshire macho Rugby League types there.
Went down like a lead balloon.

Oasis - Be Here Now Tour 1997 Newcastle Arena , one of the worst albums ever made they played nearly every song off it , horrendous.

Blondie , Glastonbury 1999, Debbie Harry couldnt sing 24 yrs ago never mind now

I was at that REM gig at Huddersfield and have no recollection of the crowd reaction (or even his comments to be fair). Don’t remember much about the gig at all really, but not down on my worst list.

The Worzels at the Great Dorset Steam Fair, they did a Techno Version of Combined Harvester it was truly awful and every one boo'd, know your audience lads.;)

He is now. This is the only gig I truly hated. Newcastle about 25 years ago. Murdered every single song. Tried to be arsey, it didn't go down well. We had front row seats. Utter crap.

A dozen of us went down , I drove the minibus so I was sober , never seen so many people leave a gig before the last song

Chilli Peppers at Reading in 99 were crap I thought, not sure if it was their fault but the sound was terrible, total letdown. They were not one of my target bands then mind, but they were massive then, should have been better.

Daphne And Celeste a year later was the worst, but that wasn't a gig I'd actually pinned any hopes on of course. Was probably one of the most funny/ crazy mind, and still to this day wonder who thought that was going to be a good idea. They were on amongst a very heavy lineup too, cray.

Arctic Monkeys at Galsto this weekend looked ****, but I wasn't there. I've been to enough **** Arctic Monkeys gigs to know not to bother with them anymore. They used to be so good too, was at their Leeds festival gig in 2005 before they really took off. Never seen so many people crammed into the carling tent.

Just shows you different peoples perceptions, I enjoyed it and it’s not on my list of poor gigs I’ve been to.

Only gig I’ve ever left (after 2 songs) was Del Amitri but I’d only gone to see the support act anyway.

Tori Amos.

Blur and The Levellers at Glastonbury (1992). Blur were drunk, Levellers were the Levellers (sh te)

The only bad ones for me were down to the performers attitude or state
Van Morriston at the fleadh, looked like he would rather be having a root canal
Shane McGowan (iam a big fan) turned up 45 mins late cabbaged, fell off stage twice and started trying to fight audience members
Ferocious dog who spent two thirds of the set sound checking (caught them a few times since, very good )
