This is embarrassingly bad

Füçk sake. No one had a good game and we were shïte tonight. There is clearly a problem away from home, but Crooks isn’t part of that problem. He has been one of our players of the season.

My concern is that we’ve taken 1 point from the last 5 away league games. Something needs to change, and quick, as if we don’t beat Millwall on Saturday we are chasing the pack with two more away games to come.

No. He is picking the wrong forwards away from home. It has to be watmore and either sporar or Coburn because balagun and Connolly are rubbish for different reasons
Neither have worked

If wilder plays either of them versus millwall then it’s more of the same.
Especially Connolly

Bola clearly not up to match fitness and wilder picked him thinking dijksteel was playing
I don’t think bola would’ve played had wilder known that dijksteel became ill

Basically, tonight, one too many changes at the back unsettled us AGAINST A TOUGH OPPONENT

Midfield done well considering the forwards were non existent and the defence all over the place

So incredibly annoying
Not an ounce of confidence in them now away from home

Sporar was far, far worse than Connolly tonight, did nothing except miss an absolute sitter, had no involvement beyond that.

Watmore played for nearly 40 minutes and did nothing.

Coburn missed an absolute sitter as well.

Crooks is part of the problem. An excellent bargain buy and a decent squad player but isn't technically good enough to play in a wilder midfield 3 where quick vision and slick pushing is needed. He had shown glimpses of this but not often enough. They're is no urgency in his play.

McGree, Tav and Howson all look forward first and are much more positive with possession.

My 8th away match of the season...and my last. Absolute garbage and started off half asleep, just as at Barnsley.
Wilder simply has to think again with the approach away from home...it is not working in any capacity and it's getting worse.
ps: Sporar needs putting out to grass, lightweight, half-hearted and a very poor finisher.
 
Ther first goal were clumly pushed it out bola had his back to him always face the ball poor defending by both players we gave them a 2 goal start ,

I didn’t say he couldn’t defend, I said he’s not a defender, there’s a gulf of difference between those two things. I’m not knocking the lad, just stating his limitations
 
Got to get the next striker signings right.
It ain't easy - everyone needs a striker.
Sporar is on a reported £31k per week, Balagoun £40k per week.
We need to be very careful to avoid another Assombolonga-style financial suicide.
 
They have better players all round, it reminded me of the norwich playoff final where we were outclassed in every position. The contrast in the forward positions was like night and day. Gibbs white is better than any striker we have and so is a 46 year old billy sharpe. I said this after seeing connolly play once for us and i have seen nothing but further confirmation, we will not get promoted if Connolly is a regular starter, in fact we will be lucky to get in the playoffs. Sporar has completely lost his way also so we have watmore balogun and coburn as our best options which is not good enough for playoff contenders. Whoever scouted balogun and Connolly failed miserably to grasp the notion we needed someone to hit the ground running. Connolly doesn't look like a footballer hes the wrong shape the wrong physique and looks unfit and overweight, if it was up to me i would cancel his loan and send him packing tomorrow.

Agree he is not a defender but unfortunately that's his best position.

Thought you said he wasn't part of the problem. If he is on the pitch he clearly is no matter how well his historical form is or was.
Agree everyone was poor tonight but that's getting to be the norm away from home
 
Problem (1 of them anyway) is the lack of back up in central midfield. Howson, Tav, Crooks have to play every game when fit. No chance to rest. If it’s not happening for them, like tonight, we can’t change it. JLS the only midfielder on the bench tonight and he’s clearly not good enough. Haven’t seen enough of Boyd-Munce but I’m assuming he’s not close to the 1st team.

Need McGree back asap.
 
I'm finding it really difficult to know what needs to improve buy for some reason we don't even start playing until it's too late away from home. We tend to finish strongly and we are great when we have a bit of momentum but we don't seem to know how to start a game. Do we want to play possession football like we did against Spurs who sat back and let us out do we want to play counter attack? We don't seem to know and it is a worry. We are letting the opposition decide how the game is going to pan out.

Something needs to change. We need to know what we are supposed to do in the first 15-30 mins. We can't afford to keep conceding the first goal nevermind the first 3 goals.

Our forwards aren't contributing to build up in any way. I've seen a lot of negatives posts about Connolly today but Sporar was completely anonymous. At least I noticed Connolly, even if it was just feigning injuries and collapses.

Peltier can't do the job of supporting the attacking right hand side so we should have had more go through Bola, McNair and Tav but none of them could make a 5 yard pass tonight.

There were mistakes everywhere but they were mostly forced errors. Sheff Utd were very good. They completely dominated every aspect of the game. We had to be good to compete tonight and we weren't even mediocre. I was in the Sheff Utd end tonight and it was embarrassing.

If we're hoping to make the playoffs then we're going to need to bea lot better if we have to play them over two legs or in the final.
