There are weaknesses in the team and until the manager and his staff can address them in the summer window, we’re going to be up and down.
You look at that team tonight and half of it won’t be here/playing next year. Lumley, Peltier, Connolly, Balogun, Sporar. We are short and games like tonight highlight how much work there is to do. We look short, a bit tired, sort of shell-shocked by how aggressive Sheffield United have been.
I just think we lack the depth needed to be consistent enough at the moment, to get to where we want to be. We have a shout at the playoffs and are enjoying a cup run. I think it’s just where we are TBH.
Agree completely, the defence in particular is makeshift and has been exposed for what it is tonight. Don’t rate Peltier, Paddy is NOT a defender Fry needs someone alongside him, a robust monster. We missed Djiksteel tonight.
I agree I think. We’ve had this for a while though, this weakness right in the middle of the team. I think we lack a real b*stard in the middle of the park. A leader, an organiser. If Fry has an off day, which he has tonight, he’s been very poor, then we look well short back there. McNair is exposed.I don’t disagree but that doesn’t explain the gulf between our home performances and those that we are consistently putting in away from home. That suggests something a bit more than just being a bit short. The nature of the performances does as well.
I do wonder if the midfield is just knackered and the occasion at home games carries them through the 90 minutes.I don’t disagree but that doesn’t explain the gulf between our home performances and those that we are consistently putting in away from home. I think this league is very punishing and it’s exposing us at times. Teams think they can get into us a bit and that needs to stop. How long ago was QPR? We have it in us to perform away from home in the league. I just think there are some teams that are too aggressive and powerful for us at the moment.

Crooks is not a top half championship midfielder, his goals have papered over his limitations. When he doesn't score he offers nothing. He ponders on the ball and is poor positionally. I'd like to see a midfield 3 of Tav, Howson and McGree once he is fit. You can see Wilder on the touchline saying get out quicker to Jones and still Crooks takes 4 touches until he's on Jones' toes in which case there are multiple defenders around him.Too many players have an eye on the Chelsea game, frightened to get injured. Not seen Crooks all night.
Tav was the only player who looked up for the fight until the subs came onTav’s been absolutely awful (again)
Lumley is too inconsistent.
Sporar cant cut it, thanks and everything but farewell.
Connolly would struggle in League 1.
This is the one game I wasn't looking forward to at all, they're a very good side, especially at home with the Wilder thing. They'd be going for automatic promotion if it wasn't for Jokanovic ripping up everything Wilder had done, trying to play a system that didn't suit the players.I know we were bad at Barnsley as well, but we should remember that the opposition tonight are just down from the Premier League. They have a lot of quality in their side. They’ve been doing this to other teams for weeks. We’re not the only side to get battered by them.
