Their is such a feeling of acceptance about these performances.

But teams below us are also in mediocre form. This is just where are are. West Brom have won 3 matches in 2 months. Blackburn winless in 5 in the league. Yes, we’re not steamrollering the division but we are still firmly on track for play-offs and a stab at promotion.

I understand that and appreciate people taking things personally. Probably should recognise that a bit more I suppose.

I suppose it comes down to expectations and acceptance.

Today - I wanted to give some squad players a chance and see what happened. While resting some players for the league.

In the league I want us in a chance of winning every game - which i think we continue to achieve.

I've also been disappointed with the drop off in form at home, but the manager mostly does what I would do.

In all honesty - after today, I would start McCabe over Barlaser at Portsmouth and I would start Engel over Borges. Left side of "the 3" is up for grabs. Would be OK with Burgzorg or McGree. Our season will live or die on the form of Azaz, Hackney, Doak, Conway, Morris and Lath - you need your best players firing. If Doak and Lath leave it will depend on their replacements
 
It would have been nice to have seen some of the u21s get a chance instead of players who have done nothing with the chances they have had recently, apart from mccabe who never gets a chance off the bench we haven't tried any of them really, McCormick, Connor, Matthews all could have started today and it wouldn't have felt as such of a write off.

I think he told us something by the team he picked.
All 11 are second choice and could be available for a move. Mcgree apart .
It won't all happen this window , but I will be surprised if ANY of the eleven that started that game will be here this time next year. ( Mcabe will get a loan )
MC may not be here the way it's going , the next couple of weeks are pivotal to how the season goes , I said weeks ago Six players could come in , and I stand by that . And six would go , Jones is the first.

For me Dijksteel is definitely competing with Ayling. Engel similar with Borges. Burgzorg similar with McGree. But, Barlaser is only playing out of necessity due to injuries.

And we’ve gone from 5th to…….5th.

During that same period….
WBA 12 points from possible 24
Watford 7 points from possible 21
Blackburn 11 points from possible 24

Of course it’s not ideal form and there are obvious flaws, but we’re not getting left behind. Hopefully getting some players back will mean we kick on.

Everyone is talking like we’re plummeting down the division. We’re not.
