Their is such a feeling of acceptance about these performances.

Nothing that happened today was really going to change how we’ve seen the Boro this season. Once the teams were announced then a 1-0 away win was always favourite.

You could argue we could have 7 first teamers back for Portsmouth. We’re out of a cup we’re not going to win so I’m not going to lose any sleep but….

Today perfectly demonstrates this issues. We don’t win enough home games. We move the ball far too slowly at times. Ridiculous kick off times and pedestrian football is killing atmosphere
There was no need for that to be at 12pm today if it wasn't on TV. There was a live feed with commentator and replays so why wasn't it on ITVx.

Listening to Carrick post match and it's just like listening to a broken record.
Surely a man/ex player of his experience and standing can see we have major issues with that squad/team. He cannot keep coming out with the same expletives especially the "we need to improve" one after each poor home performance.
Like I said in my opening post though this is a massive few months for him and the club.
“We need to improve” is an expletive? FFS

Comes from carrick, he should get a bit angry we never tested their keeper. Seems to me he lets the players off the hook , no wonder they are mediocre attacking wise and the crowd are dozing off watching sideways passing going nowhere.

Do you think we can put together 3 good performances against 2 of the better teams in the league and win them? Coz I don’t.

Just looked at our results and I can’t see a 3 game sequence where we have won or drawn a game then won or drawn the next game (as per the play off semis) then won the next game (play off final)
If we get into the playoffs we are capable of beating anyone and losing to anyone as we've shown this season (which probably applies to all 4 teams who end up there) so I'd give us a chance, yes.

I might not be the best English language wise mate but I always thought expletives were empty words or having no meaning in the grander scheme. Apologies if I'm wrong but it says everything that all you can do is pick apart my grammar instead of giving us your thoughts.

You’re right, that “expletive” has a much broader meaning than just “swearword” but it probably still requires the extra words to be essentially functionless in the context of the meaning of the sentence. I think you’d be better off calling Carrick’s language cliche.

Thank you FoC, fully understood now.
Cliche or expletives though I'm sick of hearing the same thing over and over again 😔

The style of play today was exactly the same as it was in the semi final play off at home to Coventry

It's not players, it's the way we are set up and the way we approach games tactically

Again, that’s not an answer.

I’ll answer it for you, no. He isn’t. Because he isn’t a good manager.
The vast majority of managers within reach of Championship clubs are, at best, “inconsistent” throughout their career.

Karanka was a good manager, for Boro, and abysmal everywhere else. He’s also easily the best we’ve had since McClaren. That’s 20 years.

There are a handful of “good” managers around and they’re all managing much bigger clubs than the Boro.
