I’ve never seen any evidence, on paper or otherwise, for this squad being good enough for top 2. I’ve never seen any evidence that Carrick is a top 2 manager.

I really don’t understand why most of our fans aren’t pretty chuffed about how this season has gone. It’s not as if we’ve been spoiled this last 19 years since Eindhoven is it? Making the play offs would be in itself an outlier in terms of achievement during that period.

Yeah we’re not in good form. That’s not a secret.

I just don’t understand why you’re trying to make ‘winless in 6’ (which is an indisputable fact) somehow sound worse.

I completely agree, I think play offs would be a good achievement considering the overall quality of our squad.

Dijksteel is out of contract in June , we need to move him on now, he is not good enough for a new contract .
Engel is poor , as is Borges .
Burgzorg is average.
Barlaser is not known by most as bad passer for nothing .
Mcgree has dropped off but there is a good player there when fit.
 
I'd suspect the players were a little distracted yesterday and possibly still reeling, following the shocking announcement that Hoppe had left the club.

I thought it was a really nice touch from the club playing the tribute video for him on the big screen before kick-off, and the minutes applause from the fans was classy, but maybe this had an emotional impact on the players.

I don’t know, maybe it’s my fault for buying into the ‘we’re really going to have a go this year’ spiel the club wheeled out to sell tickets. I took that to mean we were aiming for top 2, not to scrape 6th.

Meh. It’s all just a bit flat.

Why not just wait and see?

We’ve been in the Championship for all but one season since 2009 and only made the play offs 3 times. Its not like we are entitled to finish in them.
