We seem to fit the rules for deescalationUK Covid Alert Level finally reduced to 3.
We seem to fit the rules for deescalation
4 to 3
- Are there estimated to be less than 10,000 new infections per day?
- Is the UK weekly case rate less than 25 per 100,000 population?
- Has the national estimate of R been consistently <1 for at least 4 weeks?
- Have the observed number of new daily COVID-19 confirmed infections, hospital admissions, ICU admissions and deaths been on a downward trend for the last 4 weeks?
It looks as if case numbers per day need to halve again to go to alert level 2.
But will it be 2 or 4 then?Guess level 3 till autumn then...
Don;t even joke about that bear! But will it be 2 or 4 then?

Well you've done it now. On the plus side I can see you and Billy doing stats for all eternity. Billy probably has a spreadsheet for everyday of the rest of his life including a nicely arranged funeral, socially distanced of course!Sorry

Let's hope that come the summer we will look back at the last 18 months as an anomoly. not the norm.

Small rise? Weird. Was hoping for zero today! As of 9am on 10 May, 4,437,217 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the UK.
Positive cases were 2,357 (1,649 on corresponding day last week).
4 deaths were reported today (1 on corresponding day last week).
151,533 deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate (up to 23 April)
35,472,295 have had a first dose vaccination. 100,626 first dose vaccinations yesterday. 17,856,550 have had a second dose. 187,171 second dose vaccinations today.
Probably the same tomorrow as last Tuesday followed a bank holiday, but hopefully Wednesday and Thursday sees the general downward trend continuing.Small rise? Weird. Was hoping for zero today!
