The 9am figures not disclosed yet?

I agree with the others. Now is the time to stop. I've been tracking local figures to me and the way they have been presented has changed so much in recent months, to the extent where it looks like figures for the borough are no longer available, and with the testing regime as good as gone it's become an almost meaningless exercise. Thanks for all your efforts @Billy Horner and, of course, Bear66.

Who is going to start the Monkey Pox thread? I dare say that pre Covid it would hardly get a mention.
Don't even go there, my bet is everyone is keeping fairly quiet about it as they can't deal with anything like this again, albeit it can't/ won't have the same impact as Covid, basically as the R0 or IFR won't get anywhere near wild covid, nevermind Omicron.

Symptoms are pretty obvious too, and I imagine some people would be embarrassed by having it, so won't be wandering the streets with it.

My bet is they will get it contained back to Africa, but they should ask people to isolate who have it, while it's possible to get it contained, but my bet is they won't enforce anything, so we will run with low numbers for quite a while.

Huge thanks to Bear66(RIP), and Billy Horner for all their efforts.
Also to Andy_W for lots of really useful analysis, expressed with great clarity.
This is where I came to understand what the hell was going on over the past couple of years.
Looking forward to better days ahead.
No problem, to be honest I've enjoyed learning about it, and trying to pass that on in simpler terms (this wasn't easy for me), combined with some analysis (which I suppose is my strong point).

This all made me realise how much of a good resource some of the public and twitter can be, and I found twitter great to be able to actually interact with real experts in the field and then see how some some really, really switched on people on there analysed that data they produced, was like a big team effort. I found that these analytical/ mathematical types came to be the most reliable of all in seeing where this was going, and were not even qualified remotely in anything to do with infection/ disease. I suppose they figured out early days it's just a numbers game (albeit those numbers equated to exceptionally serious results), to me nearly everything's a numbers game!

It's the 5 day incubation period that is the problem I read?? Anyway, it's not a Covid type thing so I don't think any action will be taken by the Gov. I do chuckle though post party gate how if some rules were required that no one would follow them.

Yeah, that might be a problem, but if it was a big problem you would think we would have thousands of cases by now? Maybe there is, but not yet detected?
I've not paid much attention to it, to be honest, the WHO seem quite calm about it and it's not killed anyone yet.....I think.

Exponential growth with small numbers, does stay small numbers though, short term anyway. Once it gets out of hand though, there's no stopping it, as proven by late Covid responses. This was pointed out by the modellers, early days with Covid, but those who mattered most, clearly did not understand what exponential growth is, and what it could do.

I think most of the country has more about them, and more morals than the current government, so if the health chiefs advised taking action, then I think people would, despite what our clueless government did (didn't do).
