If anybody else but bear or Billy post a graph or a set of statistics you instantly dismiss them as a conspiracy theory or a lack of fact checking. That's fine, each to their own.

Thats simply untrue. Sorry I keep debunking your conspiracy theory tweeters but they make it easy. I'm trying to help you think for yourself
 
So we are now at the point where they are adding in case data that is up to 2 weeks old and have started to test people 8 days after symptoms rather than 5, so even more pointless than they were before but @Billy Horner will just 'report the stats' right?

As for the deaths the more tests you do, the more cases you find (the vast majority aren't actually someone suffering from the virus but a case) the more likely you are to have people dying in the next 28 days (especially as you test many in hospital without any symptoms because you want to separate patients if they do have the infection). It's such a mess

@Laughing the solution was there in March, socially distance, wear a mask (if you want), wash your hands and stop large gatherings. You could add in reducing capacity of stadiums to like 15% . The care homes is a real problem and I don't know what I would do there.. they need protecting more but also the footage I see of people with dementia in care homes is devastating.
The problem is of course they can't enact these solutions now because they have turned themselves round and round in circles.

There's none so blind as those that will not see. I know its more comfortable for you to ignore the truth and take comfort in conspiracy tweets and anything you think agrees with your point of view.

All I'm saying is TRY to think rationally. You might not then get upset when people debunk your theories

There's been a good few tweets that Randy has posted that, when you look at the tweeters, turns out they are conspiracy theorist nutjobs. Look mate, its fine, see what you want to see and only take in information that confirms your opinion. You can take comfort in thinking your are correct. Im just saying some of us think a bit more about things and you can't really get upset if you post your theories and people question them.

I am not very convinced that distancing works, particularly indoors. There is a fair amount of evidence to suggest that once indoors an infected person very quickly saturates the atmosphere with virus loaded droplets.

Pubs and restaurants are open for the revenue they provide.

Washing hands will definitely help and you know my take on masks.

We will end up with enough local lockdowns so that effectively the country is locked down again.

It’s hard to argue with any of that to be frank, the only thing to go with that is a fully functional test trace and isolate. Like you say to far the line and it’s a clusterfuck and we’re just chasing our tails.
 
Why are people so convinced a vaccine will arrive and is the only solution?

Why are we not being informed of studies to investigate potential immunity and the level of this immunity across the population? If these studies are not being carried out then why on earth not?

The hysteria and media hype is ridiculous. Even the BBC are trotting out crazy headlines. David Spiegelhalter sums it up nicely:

There are periodic reports of antibody (potential immunity) studies. The latest had approaching 8% of the population with antibodies. What these studies won't do is pick up hotspot immunity unless there is a greater selection of people tested in areas where the largest numbers of positive tests are found.

This study sounds interesting. Whether immune response is good or bad. Will be critical in any vaccine development.

Not to mention the t cell effect which via necessity is ignored..

What the modern pandemic has shown us is that mass collection of data is easy and can be manipulated in many ways.

I agree. I've seen very little research on the effect of T-cells other than observing their presence in younger people and conjecture as to why there is virtually no presence in older people. The Oxford vaccine specifically brings out both antibody and T-cell responses to cover both bases.

Chinese must have t cell immunity. No second wave ever been reported in Wuhan.
