The 9am figures not disclosed yet?

As of 9am on 12 August, 313,798 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the UK (pillar 1 and 2, see descriptions below).

Positive cases (pillars 1, 2 and 4) were 1,009. 64 were Pillar 1.

20 deaths were announced today. This is based on the revised method, whereby no deaths are included if a positive test is more than 28 days prior to the death. (77 by old method.)

‘Someone who stayed in intensive care with Covid-19 for five weeks and died would not be counted as a coronavirus death, for example’

Interesting stand point 🧐

But also just as bad is people who full recover then get hit by a bus going down as a covid death

Why not just use the right thing?

The ONS sorts this out in the weekly figures. The view from Scotland is that they have had 34 deaths over a five week period when the 28 day cut off meant zero deaths were announced over the same time period in the daily reports.

I think 18 deaths were announced. Taking the revised 7 day average to 12.8.

I think the old skool 7 day average would be around 57

And again, if you adjust the testing based on the HUGE increase since July, we're actually down. Sensationalism at its finest.

184,444 in the last 24 hours mate.
I think that number is the number of tests either posted out or conducted, given it's 2 tests per person. We have no idea how many people are being tested, I can absolutely guarantee it is no where near 184 thousand in the last 24 hours.

It’s hardly sensationalism if you are using an altered death rate and adjusting cases based on test rate. You can’t call it sensationalism if you have to do statistical acrobatics to make it look better. Please stop overreacting

Oh you're thinking I am trying to help the government who have systematically smashed my business in the backside since the start of this?

No, I am not.

Get a grip lad.

This pandemic has cost me £75k and I am struggling. But I am a man of facts. Clearly you are not.

You’re changing the facts to suit your argument. Which is fine. It’s just an over reaction to accuse me of sensationalism though given the numerical gymnastics you’ve had to do. I’m just concerned about the spread of a deadly virus so moderate your tone.

"You’re changing the facts to suit your argument. "

Come on, you can do better than this kidder.
