The 9am figures not disclosed yet?

Here he is again.. yes it's good news the numbers are still dropping despite the quite clear and obvious increased interaction between all of us humans..
I'm glad you think over 200 people dying is good news. Interesting morals like

We don't live forever, but 64582 people (UK excess deaths up to yesterday) would have likely lived a lot longer if the Govt hadn't acted too little too late on lockdown, ppe, test and trace, care homes, border etc
Are we using official ONS figures or are we using excess death figures?

We can't compare last year's or 10 years ago to this year until this year is over.
Yes people die from a naturally occurring disease.
As Alvez said, it is good news, averages are down, treatment has been found to help lower the rate even more, people are going back to work, people are going back to living.

Oh and pubs and bars and restaurants will be back open again next month for those who want to visit. I hope we don't see you or smalltown in there, wouldn't want to run the 0.006% risk you might get virus. Although be aware your body is current transporting around 150 different types of virus right this minute.

The ONS excess death figure doesn't compare last year nor 10 years ago but excess deaths in the same period (nothing to do with the year being 'over') since the start of the pandemic compared to the average of last 5 years. Epidemiologists have said that excess mortality - deaths from all causes that exceed the five-year average for the time of year - is the best way of determining the number who have died from a disease outbreak.

I'm not letting you derail this thread too so I'll just say this no I don't think it's good over 200 people dying is good news.
P.s. Over 200 people did not die from covid today.
Now back to the sterling work from @Billy Horner and @bear66
But over 200 people did die.

I know what you're getting at. I totally understand your desire to get the economy up and running. I'm just pointing out it's really tasteless when hundreds are dying every day. It's hard to read

No, over 200 deaths were registered today, you really should be able to understand the difference by now.
I'm not replying to your nonsense again, you have no idea my motivation.

That's not what I said. Read it again

I don't care what your motivation is. I'm just pointing out that stating the deaths of over 200 people as "good news" as tasteless at best. Not pleasant to read. You should moderate your language.

For 25 days the number people tested has been "unavailable". Surely by now this data should have reconciled and made available?

There's been double counting endemic to the way stats have been compiled, so I guess they'll hide that fact as long as they can. This was shown up in the 1st week of the English test and trace system: if someone tests positive they should have been referred to test and trace but over 4000 weren't - the people had been tested more than once under the perverse way they count tests. Dido Harding omitted to explain that the govt are getting caught up in their own statistical web of lies - maybe because her husband is a right wing Tory MP

From what I can gather from the pillers, it seems that around a third of people have been tested when compared to the number of tests carried out.

Avoiding the assumption that the data is not available because it looks bad. Surely each test is done on an nhs number so why is it so hard for them to post concrete data on how many people have been tested?

I want to know the ratio of new cases to people tested each day.

Your taking what Alvez is saying out of context, personally I believe you are being deliberately inflammatory.

The U.K. were at crazy levels, to see it coming down and hospital infections coming should be seen as good news

No one isn’t saying each death isn’t a tragedy

I'm not, actually. I know exaclty whast Alvez is saying. The fact he's so vociferous about his beliefs is extremely distatsteful given all the deaths
