Hopefully @bear66 and @Billy Horner won't have such a workload soon keeping us all updated with the figures. Fingers crossed.

The arbitrary nature of using 28 days has likely inflated figures but they weren't bothered. Now they have the issue that it will impact vaccine efficacy statistics so it will need to be changed.

I'm sure it is. Not sure what you think that proves. 👍🏻
Anyone with an ounce of intelligence would know that proves that covid deaths are underrepresented by the 28 day parameter

unless you think doctors are conspiring against the public to overrepresent covid deaths in death certificates

I'd love life to be as simple as you are Gaz but it's not.

Drs being evil has nothing to do with it, I'm sure the vast vast majority aren't.

If you did some in-depth reading you'd know that you're claim is spurious and the situation is far greyer.

I will say I shouldn't have said obvious and will retract that from my initial comment.

They’ll be no doubt some covid death certificates that are wrong, but it would be 1 in 6 that are wrong just to get it down to deaths with in 28 days. If we then state that 28 days is over representing covid deaths it has to be even more certificates that are wrong

maybe I’m naive, but I can’t see 1 in 6 covid (16.66%) deaths certificates being wrong, or that many doctors that are not keeping their integrity intact.

It's not even about being 'wrong' but let's just leave it there.

Alves is definitely one of those who states his opinion as fact. For what it's worth, with long covid and the time we can keep people alive on ventilators and medicines nowadays I'd say its certain that the 28 day rule under reports the situation as is evidenced by the higher figures when it wasn't in place.

How many days do you move it to then? 45? 60? 10?

You don’t have use dates, you can use the death certificates that a professional uses their clinical judgement.
I agree. I'd use the weekly ONS figures. No need for the daily tally anymore. Obviously with exceptions of course.
