The 9am figures not disclosed yet?

Thanks for that, maybe settling down to a background rate of Covid for the current restrictions? Bearing in mind a lot of people go into work every day, or go shopping, key worker children in school etc etc
Yeah I think that’s the call we are going to have to make soon. Case numbers might suggest it’ll be soon but I believe hospitalisations are still too high

Still going down, it’s just less apparent and more open to variance now with the smaller sample sizes.

Week on week is best way to compare now.

Don’t forget we’re doing a lot of ‘no symptom” tests now, so we’re probably also picking up some additional cases, that we would have otherwise missed, it skews the figures.

It wasn’t meant to be a “bite” situation. Just pointing out my concern
Come on ST you should know by now, day to day isn’t the way to track WoW is the sign of progress.

After a slight stall yesterday, the WoW number is back to a decent reduction again today. As Andy said fluctuations are going to be more prevalent now than a couple of weeks ago when there’s individual outbreaks that maybe pose no threat to community spread.

After yesterday, Id take today’s numbers as a positive sign we’re still on trying he right track.

Edit: in the recent past Friday tends to be the highest day of the week for case numbers so to be expected

Today's headline analysis:

• 12,027 new cases reported in 24-hour period, slightly down from yesterday's 12,057
• 7-day average for new cases decreases by 3.7% to 11,639 per day, following 1.7% decrease yesterday (and 40th consecutive daily decrease)
• 7-day average for new cases is 20.3% lower than one week ago (same as yesterday) and 41.3% lower than two weeks ago (from 43.1% lower yesterday and 45.9% lower 7 days ago)
• 533 new deaths within 28 days of a positive test reported in 24-hour period, up from 454 yesterday
• 7-day average for new deaths within 28 days of a positive test decreases by 5.8% to 519 per day, following 5.5% decrease yesterday (and 26th decrease in the past 27 days)
• 7-day average for new deaths within 28 days of a positive test is 27.7% lower than one week ago (from 26.9% lower yesterday) and 47.3% lower than two weeks ago (from 45.8% lower yesterday and 40.1% lower 7 days ago)

In English?
So you’re saying it’s wrong of me to be concerned about my fellow countrymen catching a disease that has no verified treatment?
Interesting...
Behave yourself and put the whiskey away negative Norman. With numbers been so low fluctuations are going to look worse.
Concerning? Not at all as everything is been done to stop the spread that can be done. Stop panicking. Crikey.

Isn’t that more concerning? If you think everything has been done to stop the spread and it’s not stopping.
You’re wrong about everything being done by the way but I think you know that

How?
Kids are off. Businesses are closed. Travel into the country requires quarantine. The country as a whole is running on life support. What more do you want from the country with your cushy work from home job and healthy bank account?
