Still booing the taking the knee

It’s a ridiculous post imo but I can’t be assed with your smug replies.

I feel a little guilt that my replies appeared smug
and
given your lovely considered, thought provoking, well worded comments to me from the start and throughout this conversation, I humbly apologise

Unfortunately we will never stop halfwits halfwitting, just because they are in a football ground. It's their way of life.

Ignorance runs in their veins and disrespectful behaviour is all they have to offer the world.

We clap louder and they cry harder. Poor little racists not getting their own way. Players should be free to choose.

Consider what a prospective signing might think of this behaviour if he was watching on from the stands.

1finny come on then reply to Quicksilvera lovely worded post or is he a headmaster, little drink or angry on this lovely Sunday morning.

Smug reply incoming no doubt

There was outrage on twitter last night due to a photo of someone holding up a Palestine flag in the stadium.

The majority of the replies were telling them how much of an idiot they sounded.

There was a huge chunk of racist responses tho.. HUGE

It’s the uncomfortable truth that many are unwilling to accept. Even the so called do-gooders are found massively out of step.

Thick and racist.. very much part of our club unfortunately

Did we have any Ukranian players when we showed them solidarity?
That conflict has been ongoing for 2 years now. Showing our solidarity soon fell by the wayside.

I don't recall seeing any show of support at the Riverside when Yemeni civilians were getting the **** kicked out of them.

The period between 3pm and 5pm on a Saturday afternoon should hold a single focus. We're not Celtic fans ffs.

I like to see our fans being visible against injustice.. save our steel, fcuk sky tv, etc etc

Great to see a thing with an anti war message.. anti racist gestures.. anti fascism.. it’s all good for me.

Agree 👍

Displaying a Palestinian flag is not an anti war message in itself.

Agree 👍

The Israeli/Palestinian conflict is a divisive issue with polarised opinions.
Save the debate for message boards or the pub, not the Riverside.

I think (?) I’m like most people.
Let’s ignore social media for a minute or two.

In a conversation, if someone says something I might not agree with or don’t understand and I’m curious enough to want to get to the bottom of it,
I’ll find a way of doing just that.

I will do my best to be polite and respectful when I ask. I do sometimes get that bit wrong and will do my best to put things right. If I get angsty - I don’t feel good about myself.

In the main that works.

I‘m also happy to explain anything at all when treated the same way.

My experience tells me when people behave differently there is little point because they won’t listen and just want an argument.

I’m also acutely aware that anything I believe in could be a million miles away from the truth. It could also, of course, be true.

In summary - my view is those that have responded to my comment have no interest whatsoever in how I’ve formed that view.

If I have that wrong and you, others, really do want to engage - I apologise up front.
