Rodrigo Muniz medical

I don't see why we can't keep a squad of 6 strikers. I would've said 5 would be enough but our squad is quite small in other areas so we have plenty of room. We have players like McNair and Bola that are covering several positions so it wouldn't be impossible to have 6. They'll get plenty of chances with the 5 subs this season. Like Stoke did there will be opportunity to play 4 up front when chasing a game by throwing bodies on. Having different options in there might be worth it. Watmore is very different to all of the others so offers us something unique.

Another thing I'm not 100% on is Wilder's willingness to develop youth players. I know someone who knows him from his time at Sheff Utd and they say he prefers people that have experience. He's already talked about Hoppe in particular being a development role and Coburn going on loan so maybe he isn't expecting either of them to get many minutes for us this season. (He's not completely averse to playing youth where they are good enough or he has to (like Jones) but he definitely trusts an experience head more.

Are we a year or two early on these signings?

It would be crazy to ditch your only experienced striker and fill the side and bench with kids. That goes for any level of football
I don't think so, Muniz is proven more than both of those, he's got goals, just had limited games, it's a risk though.
Forss was 1 in 2 in League 1 19/20 (goal every 122 mins), and a goal every 150 mins 20/21 in the champo for Brentford. I don't read that much into playing for Hull last year, they were ****. He's going to take a bit of time to get sharp, but think he will be more productive than Balogun and Connoly last year.
Hoppe is pretty much unproven for me, not sure how that one will go. Not sure how to read the Bundesliga.

Balogun had only two senior appearances before coming here, lots of games in PL 2, but that's probably no better than League 1 overall. I see he's scored 2 in 2 for Reims and one assist already, we should have tried to keep him, but imagine he made his decision before we got some of our targets in.

Experience doesn't mean much if you don't score enough, don't put away the chances you get and can't last a full game.

I don't think anyone thought they would rip the division up. Obviously we hoped they would but there was always big doubts. Mainly due to Connelly's attitude and Balogun's lack of real experience.
You are joking. A lot of people were 'off their heads' when Balogun was announced ........... based entirely on his scoring feats at U23 level.
Hope Muniz is a beast and gets a bag full but we've had enough warnings about getting carried away too soon.

I agree but I think his potential is very exciting but thankfully we won’t be forced to play him now week in week out as we have other options and we can let him develop naturally.

Yeah, he seems a bit of a nutter/ hot head, so chucking him in at the deep end might not have been such a great idea with him, not against the signing though, far from it, but wouldn't want to pin a potential top 2 place on him, if we didn't have these others.

I think being in a pool with others will be best for him as well.

Duncan Watmore has done incredible things just to still be playing footy. He's been absolutely ravaged with injuries and still gives more than many other players we've had over the years.

I Love the lad me and don't want him to leave.

Let's remember that if a player was going to 'rip up the Championship' he probably wouldn't be signing for us :p

Watmore works hard, seems like a top fella but as others have said he just doesnt get the goals - lets not forget Sunderland let him go while in League 1. He has the odd brilliant game, scores the odd worldy, but then seems to be anonymous for the next few games and misses a few sitters.

Am I the only one who thinks with this signing, we should save our money on forwards for now and concentrate on the defensive and defensive midfield problems?
but he is trying to get a LCB and DM.
Our downfall last season was lack of goals. I'm not sure why we would have to concentrate on one or the other, they all need sorting I do think though our defense will settle down, but with current personnel we'd struggle for goals a bit again

There was definitely excitement and hope with Balogun, not so much with Connolly.
But I don't think either were predicted to definitely rip the division up.
Anyway, we are allowed to get excited by new signings aren't we? Particularly young Brazilian ones.

Didn’t mitrovic have something like 1 assist despite the 50 odd goals so as I say he must be the hardest striker to play with in the country.

I knew it wasn’t many.

Only 16 assists in his championship career from 125 games played
