Rodrigo Muniz medical

Excellent news.. get either Riis or Larsen in as well and thats the top end of the pitch well and truly sorted. Clearly a couple of outgoings, either permanent or loans will happen too it seems.

Given the way we played midweek, so long as we tighten up at the back surely no one can fail to be a little bit excited by what may be about to happen here.

So we offload two strikers who are currently scoring, and then get a whole bunch who are unproven?

We are connected with players because they aren't getting a game in the PL or wherever and, if worth their salt, are expected to want away. Then they sign for us only to find they are on the bench again. This time in the Championship.
We had the same excitement last January and talk of how Connolly and Balogun were going to rip the division up.

Forss and Hoppe are young without much experience (and couldn't get in the side the other night), so is Muniz.

Is it a loan for a permanent? The link suggests loan. I'm really not a fan of stuffing the team with loans. Will mean we'll be back in the same dismal transfer situation next summer.
Loan but I can’t see him going back to Fulham anytime soon

True But Muniz was our long target we offered 9 m for him didn’t we

Btw wilder all but admitted Connolly was a last gasp deal to get bodies in and balogun was highly rated but never really worked.

Need to keep in mind that in the last game with plenty of Striker options we also played McGree as like a 10, and we looked very good for it, so 5 could have even been plenty.

One of Watmore's best attributes is his running, he works his nuts off but does gas out (as you would expect), but with the new sub rules we're always going to be able to rotate two strikers in, and not worry about running out of subs, it kind of nullifies one of Watmore's best attributes.

If we're forced to move on Watmore as he can't make the 5, then I'll be very happy, not so much that he's going as I like him, but because Wilder thinks we have 5 better options, and that is something to be really happy about.

We were just a year or two early on Balogun. Put him in this side this year, and he wouldn't need to pull wide to the left as much (Giles is there), and would have got far more chances, could have been a right handful as an actual centre forward.

Are we a year or two early on these signings?

It would be crazy to ditch your only experienced striker and fill the side and bench with kids. That goes for any level of football

You are Alan Hansen, and I claim my prize.

But I agree with you. Even when AH made his "win nothing with kids" comment, united had Schmeichel, Bruce, Pallister, Keane and Cantona amongst others as a pretty experienced spine of the team.

Yeah, clearly all the twitter hints and chasing were actually real/ worthwhile (y)
Definitely as people laughed at the time but I do think things like this can reveal more than people realise as it’s coming from
Him directly.

Good sign.

I always got the sense there was unfinished business with Muniz as he was the Scouting dept big scoop but warnock delayed and killed the deal.

But I watched him warning up for Fulham on the bench last year as he was a bit of a what if player, well I guess we’re going to see now.

I’m buzzing samba flair is back.

I don't think anyone thought they would rip the division up. Obviously we hoped they would but there was always big doubts. Mainly due to Connelly's attitude and Balogun's lack of real experience.

Imagine if we had bought Connolly. Then think how lucky we are to have them at all.
