29 year old Adam Johnson plays for the Nottingham Panhters and is critical......
Support and prayers pouring in hoping he pulls through:

Neck injury requiring CPR - hard to say if he will survive unless he gets blood and life saving surgery at the scene. Hopefully they have a decent trauma service on call in Sheffield tonight….

Cracking player. Aparently completely freak accident. We know its a dangerous game, but the whole Ice Hockey family has pulled together to pray for him and hope hes ok. There is a match at the National Ice Centre tomorrow night - not sure if it will go ahead now.
 
What as tragic incident. As someone who watched Billingham Bombers loads during the 90’s I can’t quite imagine how it happened. Ice stakes are sharp as razors but to make contact with the neck is highly unlikely.

RIP to the man.
 
What an awful thing to have happened, the poor guy. There are no words, life can be so very cruel at times. R.I.P Adam.
