Not a single mask...

Or, if it was that important it would have been legislated before?
The vast majority of people haven’t bothered wearing a mask and won’t until necessary.
What’s the point at having a go at each other?
Different views - that’s all

Don't be daft finny. The whole point of life is to compete to become the alpha, and to belittle those who have differing views.

I have an Airsoft/paintball mask on order which should be arriving next week. Going to make the next few months or god forbid years a bit more fun. No shop is going to ask people to take off their face covering.
I sincerely hope that is a joke Randy.
Being deliberately confrontational isn't going to help anyone.

As someone who has had to wear a mask out in public (even outdoors if it's not possible to be 6 feet away), it blows my mind that people in the UK are happily wandering round congested indoor places like shops without any face coverings

I understand the masks indoors- I think the demonstrations/ events of the last few months would support the idea that outdoor risk is minimal and perhaps overkill. Certainly would spoil a countryside walk.

How is it confrontational? It's a face covering that meets all the requirements of a cloth mask, some could argue it would work better as eyes are protected too.
It's not different to wearing a mask with a pair of glasses and a baseball cap or any other hat for example.

I wear a mask and baseball cap at work, have done since we started up again.

I would imagine in the countryside it'll be different, but I am talking about the middle of a big city (Chicago)...it's as much a courtesy to others as anything else outdoors.....I wear a face covering when running but pull it down when I am not near anyone as it's so bloody hot here!

Hmm, let me think?

I don't see the issue. I won't be confronting anybody and if anybody confronts me on the rare occasion I may need to visit a shop if I can't get it off of Amazon, I'll just say I'm following the rules and continue on with my day.

Also you'll find lots of suppliers are now selling gimmicky face coverings from those that look like a real faces to clowns faces to animal faces to superhero full face coverings to helmets and all sorts.

I was sat outside a local cafe, enjoying the sun. I suffer from hay fever and let out an unexpected sneeze. The old dears around me went out of the blocks like a bunch of sprinters. I felt everso guilty but on reflection I wouldn't have been wearing a mask due to drinking a coffee.

Properly worn disposable masks might (and only might) be effective in preventing outward transmission ... but only if they are used correctly which, in about 90% of cases I see, they aren't. They actually can become an infection risk if they become moist (this may lead them to be a gateway to infection) and also if they are improperly handled when removed. A build up/concentration of virus can then be transferred onto other surfaces.
I wear one for work and in shops. I don't believe they are doing much to reduce infection but I do think that they make people more confident in shops .... maybe over-confident in some cases.

As a health and safety manager I've had to have extensive training in covid infection control this last few months. By far and away the most important practices are distancing and scrupulous hand hygiene.

And that would be a reasonable explanation, fi it wasn't for your "have some fun" comment

Well it is going to be fun isn't it? What other time in life could walk into a shop looking like you were going to nick something?

Got my Boro face mask, would love an erimus badge face mask mind

My mates bought 3 washable ones, a plain one that has a message printed ‘What You Looking At’ a 2nd one that has a design where it looks like he has a kitten in his mouth and a third one that has a print looking like he has botoxed lips and teeth missing.

I think you can class a good majority of the country been selfish, ignorant & couldn't give two hoots, as per people will not abide by the rules
