Not a single mask...

I actually think that from Friday the vast majority will wear them.
I hope so, I don't hold out much hope. As coluka states, they are supposed to be mandatory on buses and a depressing amount don't wear them.

It really does make me despair about this country. When did we become so ignorant?

I will 100% be wearing it from Friday. I think people will pretty quickly get used to it. I do actually think they are a good idea.

I must admit, it takes some getting used to. My glasses fog up and I feel like I'm drowning. Of course I'll happily wear but it's really uncomfortable. Please tell me it gets better!!!

My (fairly elderly) mother was complaining about exactly that a few days ago!

I was in a shop today and there were two old ladies wearing masks. I think they were finding them a bit hot or something, because they kept pulling them down to breathe (which amused me). That said, the mask is still a good idea even if you do that, should it catch an unexpected sneeze or something.

I think I'm going to have to walk around outside sans mask but wear when inside. I like keeping my distance from people anyway, so that ain't a problem! But yeah, needs must and I hope everyone mucks in! I doubt it, but that's for another day!!

It really won't be.

I disagree. I'm a big advocate for masks- I wear one when i'm going shopping. Not having a mask with me when i'm outdoors has stopped me from going into shops to grab things spontaneously. It has saved money, and stopped me buying snacks/ random bags of sweets/ additional items that I would normally.

Anyone in retail know whether masks will be provided at entrances for free/ have any plans to support people who have forgotten/ dont have a mask?

Yeah, I'm VERY happy to stay 2m++ away from everyone!! I'm still giving anyone and everyone a very wide berth.

I genuinely think that from Friday they'll be worn by virtually everybody.

Would hope so but doubt it, people are just too selfish to do it either because its a mild inconvenience or they just simply dont like being told what to do.

I'm trying to keep the berth, but so many aren't. Always seems that it's me that moves, and not the ones approaching. It's that 'well he's gonna move so I don't need to' attitude that I can't stand. Hope you're right about Friday but honestly, I have huge doubts.

Certainly since the 1m+ rule, there have been a few times when I've been left thinking "Get away from me YOU FREAK" about people. (I haven't said it though)!

Why not now? If you cant breath in them then you dont need to wear one. They dont just suddenly become easier to breath in on Friday.

Obviously because right now I don't have to.

I can breathe in them, I just feel uncomfortably hot and unpleasant when I've got it on. I've no medical conditions.

If you are a glasses wearer then selecting the right type of mask is important.
Try and ensure it is a good fit across your nose and cheeks, shape the deformable strip to ensure a good seal.
If the mask is too loose on your face, cross the ear ties etc to give it a bit more tightness.
Put your mask on first then put your glasses on over it.
If all else fails, wash your glasses in soapy water or purchase a motorcycle visor coating product designed to stop fogging.
I wear a mask and glasses for at least 8 hours a day at work and whenever I'm out shopping, not just in the shops, and you do get used to them.
