Thanks for this!I had a new 718 Boxster for a year, the best thing I've ever driven.
I had the "Standard" 300 BHP one with the auto and it was rapid, didn't see any need for the S, and I thought it handled better than the older 911. I think the new 911 has the same chassis as the 718, so that will of course be better, but I don't see how it's worth it for another 40k.
I think the Chrono gives you the dial on the steering wheel for the different modes, but I rarely used these. There is a button in the centre though, which gives you 30 seconds of high revs, and that is really good fun.
Get one with a rear camera if you can, mine just had the sensors, and they're not that great, which contributed to me dinging the rear diffuser on mine.
Also, get the adaptive cruise, if you can, that saved me twice from a likely crash (neither my fault), where the car reacted far faster than I ever could.
I only sold mine as I wasn't getting enough use out of it, as I didn't like driving to meetings in it, and it forced even less use out of the Westfield in the garage. I also didn't like putting my golf clubs on the passenger seat, so I've now got a 430 Gran Coupe.
So the Chrono pack isn't worth it? seems to be the most expensive option so good to tick it off the list. I'll look out for an adaptive cruise version although haven't seen one yet. I must admit adaptive cruise is the one thing I regretted skipping on my current car.
Hope I can find one with a rear camera too. Current car has auto park so I've got out of the habit of being able to actually park!
I'm going to look ago one next week which doesn't have the camera or the cruise so I'll keep an eye out for other cars.
