He retired in 2016, maybe ill health, who knows. I checked his IMDB page last night after watching it and never realised he was actually British. He was born in Hampshire.

This is big news. I’ve been trying to find episode 742 for years! I have a vague memory, as a child, of it finishing with Charlene snogging her driving instructor and whilst Google confirms this, I haven’t actually found the episode itself (yet)!
 
How come I’ve never heard of this streaming service they are bringing it back on?

Oh, and Billy Kennedy was lush.

Ah episode 742, a classic of the 740's.

It was after she had passed her driving test she kissed her instructor, whom I believe was Steve Fisher (played iirc by Michael Pope). You may also recall that during the episode Katy also broke a mug whilst making a cup of tea for Helen.

Like I say an absolute classic and if Amazon Prime show an episode a day from January 1st then you will be able to catch it on or around January 14th 2025.

It's a free one by Amazon. You can download it separtely or if you are ever searching Prime and you see results that say free with ads - that usually means its on that but can watch it through Amazon Prime as long as you are OK sitting through the ads. Used to be called IMDB TV before they rebranded it,
