Naming the stands

There was a rumour eons ago that Gibson doesn't want a stand named after him but he knows that's what fans would vote for, so he's sticking with N/S/E/W.
 
We all have our favorite players, managers & the list would be massive with choices but for me Gibson (west stand) is a must, folowed by Rioch stand ( south stand) he managed us in our darkest hour & started us off to where ee are today, who knows where ee would have ended up without his managerial input, right man at the right time

Willie Maddren & John Hickton would be the kther 2 stands, but joking aside the 1st two should be given
 
I think a stand named after the manager who brought us our first ever major honour would be extremely fitting. 🙂
 
Not actually a huge fan of it, myself.

You end up stuck with the names forever unless you want to come across as disrespectful and there'll be no universally agreed options.

As above, McClaren is the only manager in our 146 year history to actually win a major trophy, arguably one of the most important figures, and there would be plenty of people who would have an issue with him having a stand named after him.
 
Happy with rioch and Gibson but less so with ex players even for hero's like juninho or southgate I wouldn't want to have a stand in their honour

Yea agree, my naming Hickton & Maddren was tongue in cheek, I dont think names would be appropriate after the 2 named, maybe iconic landmarks

Totally agree, like the poster above said, name the West stand after him. He thoroughly deserves some sort of memorial and unlike ex players, where let's face it everyone will have their particular favourites, you would probably get broad agreement for something named after Gibson.

Inside we could incorporate some memorials to some less than legendary figures. Who wouldn't want to relieve themselves in the Pulis P*ss-tray or take a dump in cubicle one the Monk Closet.
