Middlesbrough v Bournemouth Allowed 1000 fans

Just to add a bit of context ahead of the club communication about this...

The test event was only approved today by authorities not leaving much time to organise things. So time is against the club in that respect.

Also the same rules will apply to all test events, in that only paper tickets can be issued and they have to be posted out. This means any tickets need to be ready to post out by end of tomorrow.

With the above in mind, they have to put a process in place that can be implemented quickly as possible.
Surely the club have known for some time they would possibly have been selected with a strategy in place at the ready for this eventuality, appreciate the short notice but they should have been prepared, surely card activation with an email with seat details would be a quicker option, rather than paper tickets in a very short space of time.

Why not offer the 1000 places to the oldest SC holders as they are more likely to feel it's safer to attend when the crowd is this limited.

I've just received my voucher code for the Bournemouth streaming so even as a Gold Card holder it looks like I've missed out. Fair enough if they've taken into account people who've attended Cup games etc.
Trust me for choosing 2020 as the first calendar since 1974 where I've only attended league games!
Don't think that means you have missed out.
We received codes early this morning.

It's fantastic that our club are in on this. Let's hope they pull it off successfully and it'll be a real feather in the cap of all involved.

And who was in the ballot .. people may already have other plans or not know anything about this .. i dont always check my emails on a daily basis.

Are mfc even allowed to pass our details onto the EFL?

Strange.

Who received this?

There will be lots of this stuff going around. All coms from the club need a link to T&Cs. They will need to check that the local authority and the police will be able to allow the game to go ahead. IF and I think it is a big if both the council and the police can facilitate the game on Saturday they will do a snap ballot. Given the time of the announcement it will be touch and go. If it is true that the club is waiting on the police and council I would find it incredible that both were not involved in the initial bid - so hopefully we can get confirmation soon.

This is how Shrewsbury are doing it: Link
I expect it will only be one stand and to avoid maximum confusion it will be only ticket holders in that stand. It would make most sense if it was the East Stand allowing separation of fans from players/officials. Now where do I sit ................................ ;)

Just a bit of an update on the 1000 tickets.

Even though the EFL & sky reported about test games, most of today has been spent by the club working through complexities with local safety authorities.

Keep an eye out for a club comms within the next hour about the process for the 1000 tickets
