Middlesbrough v Bournemouth Allowed 1000 fans

Be better in the east stand bigger open spaces huge wide concourse lots more room

west stand stairs are a bottle neck and that was for pre season games when it’s low crowd.

I’ve been to pre season games when it’s only west stand and the stairs are bottle necks

I imagine it's to properly test social distancing in the stadium on a small scale. If the 1000 were spaced around the ground it would be too easy and you wouldn't need a one way system or timed entry/exit, sanitizing stations, limited toilet usage etc. This way allows for some of this stuff and procedures to be tested and for the staff/stewards to get to grips with the systems they will use on a small area before it is scaled up once the Government give larger attended live footy the green light.

Applying for tickets. Does it mean each person has to apply separately or could I apply for say three on the understanding we would be sat apart.

Understand that there maybe additional restrictions put in place in the North East on Friday, this will impact the 1000 I would have thought?

There may be some ( quite a few ) season card holders who maybe don’t want to or can’t go to games yet.
Isolating, or other plans made due to being told its October before the gates will be open.

I notice that Luton Town have decided to stay behind closed doors.
Dunno if it was the cost to allow fans in or what, but its obviously not suiting everybody just yet.

Its almost 7pm on wednesday and I’ve not heard yet of allocation plans.

I don't think fans should be allowed in yet no matter how distanced, we are seeing a massive upsurge in COVID19 infection rates, have we forgotten the horrors of this disease and the risk we put our key workers in, it's just a game of football.
Couldn't agree more, nothing has been learned from the recent worrying upsurge in cases it seems.

I think its only going to be one ticket per account....my daughter will be disapointed, but as a parent I need to teach her that she wont always get what she wants :sneaky:

If she supports Boro she'll find out that she won't always get what she wants fairly quickly. Starting with 3 points on Saturday (probably!)

Just read the same in the Chronical.

"The current plan is for measures to come into force just after midnight on Friday morning - September 18, in a bid to reverse a dramatic spike in coronavirus cases across the region.

Newcastle, Northumberland, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Gateshead, County Durham and Sunderland are all expected to be included.

No official announcement has been made about the plans, and nothing will be confirmed until a statement is issued by the Department for Health and Social Care."

"The restrictions are designed to avoid a full local lockdown. ChronicleLive understands that restrictions expected to be announced, but not yet confirmed, include:

  • People will be told not to go on holiday with people from different households
  • Care home visits will be restricted to essential visitors only
  • Residents will be advised to avoid public transport at peak times except for essential journeys, and to avoid car-shares
  • Spectators will be advised not to attend sporting venues
These are on top of the "rule of six" in force nationwide, which allows people to socialise only in groups of six or fewer. The new North East rules will mean the rule of six still applies, but those six people must all come from the same household."

I noticed that it only advised not to attend sporting venues......wild horses couldnt stop me if im 1 of the lucky 1000!

Its a 1000 crammed in the west stand I heard. Doubt they'll be any atmosphere. Not allowed to shout or sing and whoever's gets a ticket will be going to game on their own.

The announcement states 1 ticket per season card, so that suggests in theory you can get 2 tickets if both cards are linked to the same account. The bit that I’m not sure about is “ Fans must adhere to the single-seating arrangements in place for this test event.” Does that mean I wouldn’t be able to sit with my 10 year old son if we did secure 2 tickets?

That’s correct
