Lots of anti-Marxists in Hungary

Cultist? I must have misread: racist, Tory, thick as mince, gammon, it's easy done.
- some brexiteers are thick, they are certainly provably less educated than remainers on the whole
- the majority are Tory voters be they old long term ones or recent 'blue wall' ones, again provable
- Racist, well not all brexiteers are racist, but most racists are brexiteers, you'd do well to put any case forward to deny that
- gammon, silly phrase would prefer to call brexiters out on their lack of strategy and plans to create value rather than their skin complexion.

keep digging, supporting this mob is increasingly like those Germans that said, sure Hitlers a bit weird but he talks sense, he isn't extreme
Exactly the same could be said about people who support the coronavirus bill (which by the way the sleazeballs in London are wanting to extend again for another 6 months).

Hungary is an odd country, it's almost like it's still stuck in the early 20th century.

I am with you. Never I intervene, you brought Hitler up not me. He must have had a right ( no pun ) to Poland and eastern Europe.
What have you been drinking? I think I could do with some - I could do with a holiday in the land of make-believe.

Going back to Hungary - the country had a significant fascist element in WW2, that fought with the Germans until the country was fully occupied. I think they were called Five Arrows. The Far right in Easten Europe use anti communist, anti Soviet imagery, Pro Catholic imagery to good effect to promote themselves, an example shows a member of the International Brigade (in Spain in the 1930s) killing an nun in a recent fabricated drawing. No incident ever occurred.

Some posters are getting their wires crossed comparing British Politics with what happens in parts of mainland Europe. Churchill was to the right of the Conservative Party, but he fought fascism long before the majority did in the UK. The Current Conservative party is not radically different from the 1930s Conservative party.

What a load of Baloney. Look at the East Germany, Le Pen, Italy every time a far right group look try and get a seat in our country they lose their deposit, same for the far left, but to be fair they both basically believe the same.
There is no East Germany. But if you look at the map that has been posted, Germany gets a smaller percentage of right wing votes than the Netherlands and the Democratic Socialist utopia Denmark.

Those on the left were fighting fascism from the start.
Many in the tory party thought the nazis were ok

I generally agree Jam69 (I have posted up about Cable Street before), but some posters on here were saying or at least implying the Conservative/Tory Party in the UK were far right. The Blackshirts were far right who were fascist and racist, but they were not part of the Tory Party. I don't support the Conservative/Tory Party but to say they are far right is not correct and loses those posters any creditability.

In the 1930s the general view of the Conservatives was that Germany needed watching, but the greatest need was avoiding a major conflict. Britain was rearming under Chamberlain as well as following a policy of appeasement and in the end it was Chamberlain who took us to war against Germany. In general, they did misread Hitler, but not support him.

There's the proof.

Some remainers are thick too, but there's no getting away from how the racists would have voted, that's not to say all brexiters are racists.
Think it was the pro brexit daily mail that ranbthe story of the survey that showed on average the better educated voted remain.
Though better educated doesn't always equal more intelligent

The more educated tend the vote Tory - especially away from the "red wall" Tory seats. Look where the Tory seats are in London and the South East. They earn more and want lower taxes or certainly no tax rises. The last 3 Tory leaders are all Oxbridge educated.

The left behind areas of the UK tended to be the strongest Brexit areas certainly in England and Wales. Many younger better educated have left these areas and moved to or close to a Metropolitan city or overseas. Those left behind feel abandoned with fewer employment and even cultural opportunities and slightly decaying infrastructures. Leaving many feeling angry and often resentful. Regional support policies have generally failed or in some cases not existed. This is how I see it and is generally reflected in 2016 voting patterns. Some of the voting levels in left behind areas will never be seen in a General Election which to me shows how strongly those people felt.

The more educated vote Labour.
