Long Covid -could this be the real legacy of the pandemic

I'm not dismissive just saying what it is. I hope you feel better but what you're saying is also anecdotal.

My partner had two positive tests and felt bad for a week and has been fine since, I only had a bad tummy response for a day or 2.

I know people like yourself and Johnny have had long term impact and it's horrible but it doesn't change the reality that from what we know so far it looks like 80% have no symptoms so to suggest (remember the thread title) that long-covid will be the legacy of this pandemic is patently false and is spreading doom whichever way you cut it.

The very real doom is the daily gradual losses of civil liberty and economic hardship, that are being cheered on by a vocal group on here that don't see or care (or give lip service) about those impacts and only care about covid.
I hope they don't mind when I'm pushing them out of the way after shoplifting a supermarket so I can feed my kids.
Saying that they probably don't shop at the same supermarket I use so they'll be ok. 👀

Starting to realise that it impacts perfectly healthy people yet mate?

Starting to realise that it impacts perfectly healthy people yet mate?
Where has anybody ever said it doesn't?

But people are quick to forget that the massive majority of victims to this virus are 65+ years old and or have serious health issues.
Yes young people have died from it as you would expect from any virus or ailment with the potential to kill and yes there are an unlucky amount of people who may suffer long term effects.

Context. Which I appreciate on this board with a relatively older membership is hard to wrap one's head around.

Over 40000 have died, why does it make a difference how old they were or if they had any other health issues?

Try to show a little compassion

I thought I demonstrated that that wasn't the case yesterday. A small proportion of the population wouldn't be included as a non-comorbidity case.

6% of comorbidity cases are those with learning difficulties, autism or some form mental health condition in their lifetime.

Compassion and context go together.
Living in fear is not healthy.

The many thousand who are dead and the thousands more dealing with its impacts would probably argue that catching covid is also not healthy either.

This is an attack line that offers nothing, piers Morgan uses it ffs

@bear66 when it comes to comorbidities the vast majority have more than 1 but that doesn't suit your line of thinking.

@JM14 course the age of death matters, the average length of time lost to covid is one year but policy is doing far more than one years damage to young people.

What is that based on?

Im simply stating whats happening, we should be fearful of what the future holds for many people at the moment
That's your choice not mine. Relying on others to change your own future doesn't work.

But it’s not your choice that is the point.
My future is determined by me and me alone. Other factors come into play but I am the one who ultimately decides using said factors as guidance.
If people want others to decide their future for them then that's absolutely fine as it's their choice.

😀
