Fans Forum Discussion

That's good news on the Boro Pride Rob. Many thanks. I know i'm often critical of the club (and sometimes of the supports group) but that is a step in building connections with a significant section of the fan base which is obviously more important than ever right now.
I think there will be plenty of opportunities for fans to feedback on the ways forward - how would they like the Riverside experience to go next season - within the parameters that the safety authorities lay down. But how can we make it a bigger event on match day and that regards people that cannot get to the match as well as those going to the match.
Virtual Concourses - with big match build up can involve those that are exiled from the town/club one way or another.
But there will be opportunities to think about the whole match experience - what works for people - what people would enjoy before/after the game.
The club will be aware they need to work far harder than ever to make these reconnections.

I was made aware last night just how many people still may be fearful of going out - and for that reason, as it stands will not be returning in August.
I would urge anyone that has real concerns like this to contact the club - Yvonne Ferguson and the ticket office - they genuinely want to talk to you about it. No one is forcing anyone to do something that worries them and that is what Yvonne wants to let people know. But I know they are still offering to make the walk with fans to their seats and also to help in anyway possible to allay fears etc and just to have a chat about things.

I'm about a week late but maybe it could be something considered at the next event. It's also something i know @shaun71 has championed before. I'd love the club to introduce player legacy numbers. Each player that represents the Boro gets their own number identifying them uniquely and giving them a special place in our history. It helps create a closer bond between player, club and fans. I don't think this is done anywhere else.

Oh yes. I suppose Erimus also does something like this doesn't he giving players a number.
It is a great idea an Shaun is ideally the man to do direct this - a big job isn't it?

When you say Erimus, is that a user on here? Is there any link to his work? I'd love to see the club adopt it and make it a part of our heritage. I trhink it'd good for their marketing wing as well personally.

I have indeed got a full list of players numerically ordered who have played a competitive match since our first league game in 1899. However we played in the FA Cup between 1882 and 1899, Im always toying do I need to add them too?

If not our next debutant will be player number 940.

Erimus74 does indeed have a similar list, but I think counts them double if they come back for a second spell.

Ive always thought it was a great idea for 'legacy' numbers. Ive mooted the idea before to the club but not for a while. Ill put it all together again and give it another try.

Brilliant. Can you keep us updated on how you get on Shaun? Would it help if the weight of the Fans Forum were behind it?

Hi Shaun - this sounds a great idea - I know one of the historians at Bradford City, City Gent's Dave Pendleton. They certainly like their history, there. Am sure the Supporters Forum would all be really interested.

That must be for the statue of Charlie Amer?

Realistically, who is for? Camsell? Southgate? Mogga? Rioch? Juninho?
HAS to be George Camsell.. surely?!?!?

Unless the club has persuaded Clough’s family to move his statue from Albert Park to the Riverside?

Tough decision if true and I could see why they family would be hesitant. Probably for the best in terms of safety, security and the number of football fans paying tribute, remembering his memory.

FMTTMRob was saying it takes YEARS AND YEARS for funding, design and approval for a new statue. ST o given the limited timeframe and no whispers surrounding anything getting made. I would guess that.

Is the cough statue still barrier’s off/chained off in Albert Park?
