Fans Forum Discussion

Yes. Voting on a few kit designs, even away kits was good fun, wasn't it.
And possibly indicated which was most popular.
Membership cards - I know you were talking about paying for a card for privileges. This could be a revival of the Boro Pride card couldn't it - something that potentially makes (not every) match by match fans feel a part of things at the club.
the pride cards were a bit naff imo, membership cards look cooler and could include loads of exclusive stuff. I think it would be good to bring in ex pats and folks living and working abroad too

The technology is there to carry extra data now but would you want all that extra stuff on a card? Would you want to pay for a card? If so what would you expect back in return?

Me too - especially for those of us nowhere near Middlesbrough
exactly,

there is an issue with kids and footy tops in my opinion. parents aren't always flush with cash in the summer with holidays and having to buy new gear. a new kit released at xmas time or even yearly season cards - through the membership thing would be cool. getting a shirt for xmas and having it out of sate by the summer. also the prospect of getting a half season card of the kid hasn't had chance to get to many games.

it's more about getting a connection with fans and not just blundering though like all the other clubs, doing the same thing.

so many fans strapped for cash and missing out because of it. lots of fans working away missing out.

other stuff that could be included.. membership to local gyms, sporting facilities and swimming pools etc
bringing the sporting community together, I've got a cool idea for some footy training stuff that would cool too.

financially it makes sense, the club would just be selling what it already has. a bit like a credit card, spreading the payments over weekly and giving folks something decent to give for xmas.
I know the sporting thing might be a bit of a stretch but the current schemes suffer from a lack of visibility and are dreadfully explained.
getting folks into sport, exercise activity on a community level has to be a good thing, and should be something at the very heart of the club as well. MFC Foundation to a lot of great work it would in some respects be a continuation of that.

A Canny Black Box for Xmas.

New personalised shirt.. that will be used for 12 months.
12 months worth of footy (two half season tickets in effect)
Exclusive online content - interviews, training etc
a Merry Christmas message from Steve Gibson - like the Queens speech but better
plus a signed team photo
Free entry into gyms and swimming and footy pitches etc
and let folks pay for it weekly

just make it cool and none of that Blackpool Souvenir Shop tat. Rory the Lion snow globes or Mackenzie Thorpe postcards

I couldn't careless about any of the bells and whistles mentioned above. The Boro Pride was spot on. Pay £10 for the card, no booking fee (which, frankly, is a rip off given it's an automated system) and a discount on walk up prices. Are priority points still a thing? Hopefully not but if they insist then some form of points for buying a Pride card. I'd rather just **** off the points system though.

the Boro Pride thing was totally naff. it looks successful because fans who buy individual tickets will take it up to save a few quid over the season. it doesn't bring in new fans, it doesn't build a connection it doesn't bring folks together.

more poundshop marketing

We had Fans Forum tonight and I presented many of the ideas/questions from this thread. There was discussion and some answers from Yvonne Ferguson - Supporters Services - but the entire list will go before the football club for considered answers.
There was very positive discussion of many of the points - all will be shown in minutes which will be out in a few days - after they are prepared and passed by different parties (Mark Motley does this now and the process is much quicker).
What can I say before that -
Oh yes Disabled Supporters are now £30k down on their appeal for a new mini bus. They still face all the costs on the old bus and have had no annual event or other big fundraiser opportunities - if you can think of any way to help them..
Riverside Cafe Bar - Thurs, Fri and Sat (except home matches) 12-8pm - going well and you book a table online. 2 hour slots.
Free pints should be happening next season.
Am hoping supporters can be represented on Safety Advisory Group before next season - this is the group of council, club, fire, ambulance and police - they will interpret the government rules and regs for how we return to the Riverside so it would be really handy if we were part of these discussions.
Hope to get numbers that watch match streams from club.

This seasons home kit is poor .It looks like a pub team shirt .
Newy suggested bringing back a fans choice from 4 shirts , which is a great idea .
Only problem is , the people picking the 4 choices .
It should not be the same person each year , give the choice to the fans.
Get the fans to design a shirt , and pick the best .

Next seasons shirts have already been selected. Hopefully though now we have raised it we will be involved next season.
Not sure I agree about this season's being a pub team shirt - it was popular on here when revealed as I recall.

What was the sales of the shirt this season then Rob ?
Was it popular compared to other seasons ?
How many sold ? At full price when it came out ?
That will provide the answer .
I don't see many wearing it out and about .
A white shirt with red touches seems to sell out every time , this should be our away shirt , with the blue and black as 3rd shirt .

This season's shirt is a classic. Great design and a good decision made by the club. I'm not sure i'd trust our supporters to pick a good design :censored:

No I didn't bring up red Riverside Stadium - though I should be on a full list of points raised and put to the club.
Membership/Boro Pride was debated and is definitely something being looked at as way of helping people connect to the club both here and overseas etc.

That's good news on the Boro Pride Rob. Many thanks. I know i'm often critical of the club (and sometimes of the supports group) but that is a step in building connections with a significant section of the fan base which is obviously more important than ever right now.

This season's shirt is a classic
It really isn't - it's naff ...... and as for white socks 🤮

- Red shirt, with a white hoop, red shorts, red socks (I'll even go white shorts at a push, but NEVER white socks)
- Blue and Black striped shirt, black shorts, black socks

Always
