Club Shop - Complete Shambles!

The cynic in me can't help thinking that MFC deliberately understock home/away shirts etc. to portray Errea as some kind of sort after/niche manufacturer, where in reality it is a brand primarily associated with small clubs & countries who win nothing!
I don’t think it’s that I think it’s because our supply method is so insular they don’t see the need for mass production so we are way down their priority list.

Never mind Stockholm you can’t even buy our tops in Stockton

Go to Leeds Bradford airport, there is a full range full of dirty shirts for sale, so why not Teesside Airport.

Rob the point of having a physical store is people can come in and buy products.

If the club want everyone to go online and get updates of when stock will be in then just close the physical shop down, as its a waste of money having it open.

If you have a store and have no stock on gifting for Christmas and core product ( ie Kits) that is down to bad planning and management, nothing else.
And I can’t spend my gift vouchers on line (as far as I can see) 🤷‍♂️

You can go on the website and it has a full range of products, you click on them and guess what... no sizes at all available. So you have to click on every item to find out theres nothing left.

And @fmttmadmin its great saying yeah order online but then i pay 6 bloody pound delivery for an £8 mug when i live 15 minutes down the road.
If you are spending less than £10 you qualify for the spend less, save more delivery price of only £3 which disincentivises excessive club shop spending.

Ive had a good read through this thread and as a whole i agree with most of the comments made , its quite simple most of the time enough stock isnt preordered.

But there have been lots of good things in recent times too, the retro shirts are nice as are the walk out jackets and training gear. just make sure if you want a particular item to get it when launched or lose out.

I think the club shop staff get far too much stick, maybe they want to order more but the powers above make them decisions and they are the ones that have to sit back and take it from the fans . Just my opinion here.

after the last adidas year they were left with mountains of stock, and again in the 1st year of hummel. so thats where the risk averse comes from.

My main gripe is that they continue to supply an ebay seller with lots of stock, someone at the club must know who is leaking so much stock.

At times over the past few years said ebayer has had more stock than the club shop, they also seem to get everything from own brand to player issue stuff, for me this stinks and is bang out of order. This should be sold to fans by the club. It has to be someone at the club selling to this ebayer as its been through the adidas/hummel/ errea era.

Everything from samples through to player kit and everything in between , its just wrong

The whole set up is unprofessional. Its why the people who are professional leave. This isn't actually that difficult to run. If they need mugs they could get them in 7-10 days easy. Have Boro notebooks or sports bottles in a week, easy.

No kids shorts or socks in the away kit ! My son luckily managed to get a away shirt a few months back and now wants the matching set for Xmas.

However no stock. He's also started going to the games over the last few months.

So the plan was to get him a half season ticket as the seat next to me is free and he asked for the away shorts and socks. Can't get either. The club seriously needs to do more to get the next generation of boro fans coming through.

I find it particularly frustrating as having worked in merchandising i know there's more they can do. Its not just about money but also about promoting the brand. Do they work with sponsors to co-brand their internal items?

day one but it was in a different location, and there was one in the cleveland centre
I only remember a short lived one in the Cleveland centre about 6/7 years back. The shop I remember was the one on captain cook square, which I’m sure was the biggest club shop in the Country when it opened.

And the one in captain cook square near the travel agent

Shirts:
No stock of home shirts in adult sizes below 4XL
No stock of child home shirts at all
More positive with mini kits - everything in stock apart from age 4
Away shirts - adults - no size S but every other size currently in stock
Away shirts child - everything apart from XXS (cryptic sizes again)
Away mini kits only 18-24m in stock everything else sold out

In terms of shorts/socks (only done kids as what adult wants the shorts?!):
Home shorts - only 2YXS in stock everything else sold out (cryptic sizes again)
Home socks - in stock
Away shorts - completely out of stock
Away socks - completely out of stock

So I make that if you wanted to buy your child a full kit then you couldn't.
This has been our experience. The idea of clicking a button and hoping something comes back in stock, or of checking back until a thing you want is available is just not acceptable for things like a football kit. They are bought for birthdays and special occasions. I need to get an alternative thing if their main present isn't going to be available and can't hope my child will get a magical delivery in time for their birthday.

Just in this house we've given up on two pairs of home shorts and socks and two full away kits for the kids. It's probably a spend of £150+?
I never bought the kit new for myself but in the Adidas days bought goalie and training stuff to the tune of fifty quid a year in the end of season sale. I get it they want the full whack for that up front but I'd never pay it. Seems to me that overstock still got sold at cost at least and there were never these issues when we had an end of season sale.
