As of today. What were people expecting? I didn't think it would be this high given the prices. Or is it the Wilder factor...
Think last season there were 10 teams within an hour and a half of Nottingham so its no wonder they had good numbers away, not as good as us thoughConsidering our prices are not designed to just ‘shift’ the tickets like at some clubs I think that is superb backing from our supporter base.
I had to laugh reading the Forest forum after they got promoted a couple of weeks back when a few of them couldn’t believe the Boro had finished top of the away support league above them and Sheff U, saying it was a great effort by our fans looking at the geography and distances particularly for night matches.
Then one of them piped up that it was because this is Boro’s ‘thing’, small town with a big club and so they all have to turn out…..!
I love your spirit Rauko! For the first time in many years - I'm actually bored during off-season and am itching to get back to the Riverside and for (boro!) footy to get back on it .. I anticipate "something" this season .. Just kick off the season next weekend .. they don't need breaks FFS!
Do we know how that compares to previous years? As of today. What were people expecting? I didn't think it would be this high given the prices. Or is it the Wilder factor...

Here's a thought to contend with - perhaps people don't think the prices are too high?As of today. What were people expecting? I didn't think it would be this high given the prices. Or is it the Wilder factor...
Hopefully we'll be looking at an average of 22/23k then, with a gradual increase in numbers as the season progresses (providing that we're doing well).
18,000 is a really good start. A lot of those will be at 'early bird' prices you would think, and those prices have never really been an issue. I think one thing that puts *some* people off is that the full price is way higher than an early bird ticket. Getting new supporters involved is important so making that offer available to more people would surely sell some more season tickets. And pay on the day tickets are ridiculous(not just Boro, across the board). Here's a thought to contend with - perhaps people don't think the prices are too high?
A vocal majority on here might but is what's projected through the medium of the board really representative of the rest of the Teesside world?
Is Middlesbrough a small town? 176k isn't exactly small. Then one of them piped up that it was because this is Boro’s ‘thing’, small town with a big club and so they all have to turn out…..!
