18,000+ ST Holders

where is the figure from?
MFC..

Boro fans once more have the chance to join Our Journey, with Season Cards available again for the 2022/23 campaign.

More than 18,000 Season Cards have now been sold, and the number continues to grow as excitement builds ahead of the new campaign - with our official home shirt revealed, first summer signings through the door and the Sky Bet Championship fixtures confirmed.

Even if we are, I don't get the implication that being a small town is somehow an advantage over being a big city when it comes to travelling support.
I agree. I don't think it's an advantage either. The away attendances also don't factor in the amount of Boro fans who don't live in Middlesbrough either, so away games are close for many. Lots of people on this board are examples of that.

That's very good to be honest especially at the highest prices in the league and a cost of living crisis. Could be 19k by time the season starts if we sign some quality strikers.

Same for many clubs

18k is excellent considering the cost of living crisis for a lot of people and an approx 6.6% price increase. Posters on here and other other clubs keep telling us we are the most expensive in the league and more expensive than half of the Premier league.

My guess is that sales are up about 20% on the same point as last year. We are going to average at least 25k this season.

Sales are probably back to 2015/16 season level

Ref Forest - they have a county of 833,000 people and there is Forest and 2 lower league teams. That's a big catchment area, but Boro probably have more fans around the UK as Teesside people have left the area for work, especially when we play in London. Teesside migration has been higher than other regions because of the dwindling employment opportunities in the last 43 years.

Is Middlesbrough a small town? 176k isn't exactly small.
I don’t think it’s that small either, just posting what they were saying, it did make me smile. In fairness to the other Forest fans they were full of praise for our away support.

No chance, doubt we will sell many more season tickets at that price and wouldn’t expect more than a few thousand walk ups apart from the big games plus a few hundred away fans. Will still be playing in front of 13k empty seats most weeks mainly due to the daft costs

Such poor planning when there is such a good feeling around the club at the moment, could have got younger fans interested for years to come if they didn’t price the majority of the area out of attending

Here's a thought to contend with - perhaps people don't think the prices are too high?

A vocal majority on here might but is what's projected through the medium of the board really representative of the rest of the Teesside world?
2nd highest prices in the league and more than a lot of Premier League clubs. I think it's blatantly obvious that they're too high. It just shows how good our support is when so many people are still parting with their hard earned cash at a time when the cost of living is hitting people hard. I honestly think if we priced them right we would be getting 25k+. I would get 3 season tickets without hesitation, it's only the price which stops me and i know a lot of other people who say the same.
