18,000+ ST Holders

not had a season ticket for about 15 seasons now, work just makes it impractical - clashes with so many games. Prior to Covid I'd make about 5 & sometimes more games a season last season that was down to 2.

It's not just the walk up prices ( though I think it's too much for a game of footy ) that put me off - the bigger factor - was the handing over of info for the friends I was buying for, so we'd get reward points properly assigned - I told them I don't want the reward points. Buying online was a pain because of this too so I stopped that & now buy at the ground - which impacts, though I don't remember being pushed to provide details of who the other tickets were for, last time I bought at the ticket office... which is an improvement.

There will not be 13k empty available seats
The capacity is only 31k now and we have sold 18,500 - according to my maths thats 12,500 without any walk ups or any away fans!

And we could shift another 500 STs in the next 3.5 weeks.

Our average last season was 22k - we have sold 3,000 extra season tickets so far - 22k + 3k = 25k average - this is based on finishing 7th, we are expected to finish 5th this season (according to Bookies/Betfair) i.e. have a slightly better season than last season. We may also get more away fans because of the type of new clubs coming - Sunderland, Burnley, Rotherham - all Northern. We have lost some relatively poorly supported away sides Fulham, Bournemouth, Peterboro.

Bradford adult season tickets 24 to 65 yrs old are £194.
£260 now for young adult @ Bradford
£308 for the same @ Boro

But surely Boro should be at least 20% more - two divisions above and better facilities?

Tbf Bradford themselves report selling only 14k, so we've shifted 32% more.

While part of me admires Bradford's sell em cheap, pack them in approach, I don't know of any club who has achieved success by first getting the fans in. Success is achieved by getting it right on the pitch first. That, in turn, fills the ground.

Hearing the South Stand is almost completely sold out , is that just of Season Tickets, or altogether? Will you be able to buy a ticket at all next year? Be excellent for the team if its sold out every game and if it's the case they should release another block or two.

I'd love the club to come out and be a bit more vocal, packing behind both goals and announce every milestone like every 500 or 1000th ST sale, brilliant figures though.

Not certain, but suspect blocks 56 and 57 will be available on a match between match basis. Looks like there were not available for season card purchase.
I think they are in the area that may be needed for fa cup away tickets.

You can have both
It is an excellent show of support - really impressive
But
The STs and walk ups are expensive in comparison to many others incl some Prem clubs.

18000 is roughly £7m after Vat. On here we talk about spending £10m.on a player as if it is pennies.

It's a crazy game.
This is what annoys me about season ticket prices. Its no longer such a large portion of the Club's revenue. TV Deals / Sponsorships are so much more important. A 20% cut on ticket prices to bring us more in line with other Championship clubs surely wouldn't be a massive impact on the club. £1-1.5m annually.

Yet that gesture would make a huge difference to the average fan and would probably pull in a couple of thousand extra fans to lessen that shortfall further.

If we are in Prem Lge next season, the prices will probably remain the same, and they'll end up selling out of season cards.

Fans won't be shouting about the prices then.

You have to remember that a lot of that bump in season tickets will be made up of people who paid on a match-by-match basis last year, so won't also buy on the day

There will be some new fans coming who will go match-by-match but not commit to a season ticket, but I'd wager not as many people who converted to season tickets

Still, selling more season tickets can't be a bad thing (y)

I known the loyal season ticket fans will have a legitimate gripe with this, but id love early bird to just be extended in the future seasons, and I'd love to see cheaper match day tickets. I remember the last time we had an "offer" on for one game, it was when we were fairly crap under Mogga I think, and the Riverside was absolutely packed and pumping, and we battered the opposition, it would be great to make the Riverside a couldren this year. I think if we got 27k plus every game and the place was rocking it would be like the equivalent of a good striker

Ref Premier League Clubs charging less than Boro - my point is that this is in general not true.

We know from bitter experience teams like MU charge more than us for walk up - they charged Boro fans £48 plus admin fees. While an adult at the Riverside could get a walk up ticket for £29 no booking fee if bought at the stadium.

Which Premier League clubs charge less than £29 for an adult ticket? (non membership schemes).
