A project to educate visitors on the vast array of trees in Stewart Park has culminated in a fascinating new leaflet guide.
Interesting Trees of Stewart Park profiles eight trees in detail, with a total of 40 mapped around the park.
The leaflet has been produced after a joint project between Middlesbrough Council and the Friends of Stewart Park.
There is information on breeds including a Cedar of Lebanon and a Giant Redwood, the latter being so large it takes a minimum of three adults to give it a hug!
Ann Thomas, treasurer of Friends of Stewart Park, said many of the rare trees were planted by Henry Bolckow.She hopes the leaflet will encourage visitors to make the most of their trips to the park and explore more of the space.

Marton East councillors Dorothy Davison and Tom Mawston have both welcomed the project and praised the Friends group for funding it.
Cllr Davison said: "Stewart Park is undoubtedly one of the best things about Middlesbrough and I've thoroughly enjoyed reading more about the history of the trees that make it so special."
Cllr Mawston added: "The Friends group do a great job and I hope the information they've put together with staff from the park helps people enjoy the park even more. There's so much to discover on a good walk."
Middlesbrough Mayor Andy Preston said: "Friends of Stewart Park have created a magnificent leaflet and I know lots of people will be really interested."
