I don't understand how anyone can look at this shower, the state of the country, how far we've fallen since 2010 and think "you know what's going to sort it, 1 more term of the Tory party."
Utterly depressing isn't it?

These idiots (and you'd have to be an idiot to continue to back them now) are probably split between a number of groups.

A lot will be the easily brainwashed by the daily mail who genuinely believe the very far fetched excuses that it isn't this governments fault it's all lefty snowflake lawyers, remoaners and treacherous civil servants that have prevented a fat useless liar, (who has always, by any measure, been a fat useless liar) and his brain dead successors from magically turning the country into a utopia through the power of positive thinking and flag waving.
.
The sort of people who still back trump.

Then you have your more casual racists who don't believe they are racist so probably wouldn't vote Britain First etc but would probably say things like "I wouldn't vote Britain First, I'm not racist. But they do make some good points though".

Then you have people who see politics like supporting a footie team and don't have a clue what's going on, but will always unthinkingly tick Tory. Suspect quite a lot of pensioners fall into this category.

And of course there's the top few percent of earners for whom it actually makes sense to vote Tory as long as they're completely selfish and have no morals.

Couldn't agree with all of that any more, great post.

The only people who might get any value financially are probably the top few per cent, but once you weigh up tax savings v what public services they and their family use like transport, healthcare, schooling, police, fire brigade, social services, local councils etc, then probably 90% of the top 3% would still be losing out.

But then even those top 10% of the top 3%, who it does actually benefit, would have to also not have any morals to still vote Tory.

It can't be a financial decision, not a correct one, so all that's left is gullability, hate and selfishness, in one form or another, which explains a massive chunk of the remaining Tory vote share.

Even more interesting that lots of people started off not tory, yet when they got older they became more tory as they thought they had "earned" their way into it (kidding themselves). The tide on this changed with millennials though, they're the first to buck the trend of the previous generations, and the ones after even more so. The far right's days are numbered and this might be the start of it.

Slipped it out? It's all over the news or do you just read what suits you?
It’s all over the news in the same way the Dominic Raab scandal was all over the news that Friday. Do you remember when the press were screaming blue murder about Diane Abbot comparing ginger people to the Holocaust. It’ll be exactly the same this time around, all done by Sunday lunchtime and by Monday everyone will be talking about something else. It happens time and time again.

I think there is an element of it's my team and I'll support them regardless. Consider NUFC. Any ight thinking person would want nothing to do with them since the saudi takeover, yet, they do and most of our supporters would continue to suuport their team if we were biught by a despotic state

Look...Roger Waters.

You need help pal.

But you inferred that the Roger Waters issue was being used as a deflection to Reeves' announcement.
Starmer isn't the only or the first Labour MP to jump on the Waters bandwagon.
However, you stated outright that ken Loach had expressed antiSemitic views. You were challenged on this but failed to answer.

Roger Waters has been criticised by many people of all persuasions over a long period of time so it's hardly a bandwagon. The guy's a fruit-loop. He believes a Jewish conspiracy overthrew Corbyn, fixed the result of the 2019 general election and controls Keir Starmer. And as one correspondent wrote "But ranting like a paranoid schizophrenic about how you’re being ‘cancelled’ while performing at the O2 arena, one of Britain’s largest concert venues, and have a steady income from your millions of fans and listeners worldwide takes the mick a bit."

Yes I did and as you should know expressing a view can be done in many ways, not just written or verbally. I'm happy to support the view of sources I deem to be trustworthy. People who hate Jews will take a different view I'm sure.

Oh, and you still can't bring yoursef to admit that recent criticism of Waters is not being used to deflect focus on Reeves' announcement this morning.

Finally, this is a thread about how well Sir Keir Starmer's Labour Party is doing in the opinion polls.
Take your conspiracy theories about Corbyn being cancelled by the Israeli lobby somewhere else (y)

The only category I think I would add is based on the famous Twain quote - "it is easier to con a man than to convince him he has been conned".

There must be a lot of people who genuinely thought they were doing the right thing voting for Thatcher in the 80s. Her policies must have seemed pretty radical and experimental after decades of post war consensus and by the end of the 80s the west had "won" the cold war.

If those people accept now that private isn't always better, that wealth doesn't trickle down, that harsher social security doesn't encourage people to get on their bikes, then they really have just voted to make the country worse for their own friends and family, their children, for the last 50 years. That must be a very bitter pill to swallow.

When I made the comment 'Look...Roger waters' it was nothing more than a flip comment using some nonsense that had been in the news this week to demonstrate how political parties of all colours can use things like this to bury bad news.

It's clear though, that you have gone right down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole. There are certain people, including sections of the MSM, making accusations that Ken Loach is an antiSemite and that Roger waters is a Fascist but none of these people have yet produced a scrap of evidence to back up their assertions All they have is lies and distortions.
You are now parroting these accusations without any research. You haven't produced a shred evidence to back up your claims (it's been a week since you made your Ken Loach claim) and you never will. Why? Because none exists. But feel free to carry on spreading your alternative news.

Yep. Human nature. We're all guilty of it to some degree. Some are better at holding their hands up and admitting they got it wrong than others of course.

A lot of people will be suffering from cognitive dissonance right now.

You are right but there is a lot of brainwashing by the media in this so called free country of ours plus a cap doffing mentality historically bred into the poor by the feudal system.
